<p>ACT colleges use the <a href="https://www.bsss.act.edu.au/act_senior_secondary_system/curriculum" rel="nofollow">Board of Secondary Studies (BSSS) Curriculum</a> and operate on a continuous school-based assessment model. This means there are no external examinations apart from the ACT Scaling Test (AST) in Year 12. Instead, students are assessed on their learning throughout the 2 years focusing on different themes or skills.</p>

<p><strong>About the role:</strong></p>
<p>As a music teacher in an ACT college, you will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Bring senior secondary Music teaching experience, including the ability to teach composition and work with large mixed-level classes. </li>
<li>Deliver engaging, differentiated teaching programs aligned with the ACT Senior Secondary Music curriculum for Years 11–12. </li>
<li>Teach and model practical musicianship skills, including piano and voice, and conduct student ensembles/bands for performances and productions. </li>
<li>Differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of student abilities and support inclusive learning environments where all students feel valued. </li>
<li>Collaborate effectively within the Arts faculty and contribute to extracurricular activities, network events, and whole‑school initiatives. </li>
<li>Apply strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate senior secondary students. </li>
<li>Engage in ongoing professional learning and use assessment and feedback to support improved student progress and achievement.</li>
<li>Build positive, respectful relationships with students, colleagues, families, and the wider school community. </li>
</ul>

<li><strong>Secondary subject expertise</strong>: Strong curriculum knowledge and a demonstrated approach to enhancing student outcomes. </li>
<li><strong>Qualifications and experience: </strong>A recognised tertiary teaching qualification and experience working with senior secondary students. </li>
<li><strong>Passion for teaching: </strong>A genuine desire to see students thrive and succeed in a supportive and inclusive environment.</li>

<li>A recognised 4-year full-time tertiary teaching qualification. </li>
<li>ACT Teacher Quality Institute Teacher Registration (or eligibility to apply). </li>

<li>Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid working visa.</li>
