<p><strong>THE ROLE</strong></p>
<p>The Learning Support Teacher is a key member of the senior school team, working across Years 7–12 to support students with diverse learning needs. The role focuses on fostering inclusive education practices, enabling students to access the curriculum, achieve academic success, and develop confidence and independence. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals to implement effective support strategies and uphold the College’s commitment to holistic education. </p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead the collaborative development, implementation, and review of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for students across Years 7–12, ensuring alignment with curriculum goals, wellbeing needs, and student voice. </li>
<li>Coordinate the ILP process with Heads of House, Heads of Department, classroom teachers, Learning Support Assistants, students and families. </li>
<li>Ensure compliance with the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) through the identification of student areas of need, adjustment levels, maintenance of evidence, and support for staff in documentation practices. </li>
<li>Design and manage timetables for staff to support students requiring adjustments, balancing in-class support, withdrawal sessions, allied health appointments, and wellbeing needs. </li>
<li>Support classroom teachers in making adjustments to planning, teaching, resources, assessment and reporting and the environment differentiating curriculum and assessment tasks, providing practical strategies and resources to ensure inclusive access across all Key Learning Areas and year levels. </li>
<li>Apply the Disability Standards for Education (2005) to uphold legal compliance and advocate for equitable access to learning, co-curricular, and wellbeing opportunities. </li>
<li>Contribute to behaviour support planning, including the development of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), coaching staff in proactive strategies, and supporting co-regulation and escalation protocols. </li>
<li>Build strong partnerships with families and external professionals, maintaining clear, respectful, and professional communication. </li>
<li>Use qualitative and quantitative data including; academic, wellbeing, and attendance records, to inform planning, teacher practice and whole-school initiatives leading to improved student outcomes. </li>
<li>Engage in ongoing professional learning in inclusive education, adolescent development, and wellbeing, contributing to whole-school initiatives that promote student agency and belonging. </li>
<li>Provide and support staff training, including the induction of Education Assistants. </li>
<li>Lead, Implement and evaluate collaborative processes involving key stake holders, in case management, monitoring and review of student progress. </li>
</ul>
<p> <strong>Pastoral Care Responsibilities </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Support the College’s pastoral care framework by contributing to student wellbeing initiatives and programs. </li>
<li>Work collaboratively with Heads of House and Wellbeing Coordinators to monitor and support students with additional needs. </li>
<li>Participate in pastoral care meetings and contribute to the development of wellbeing plans and strategies. </li>
<li>Provide guidance and mentoring to students to foster resilience, self-advocacy, and positive relationships. </li>
<li>Support transitions between year levels and post-school pathways for students with additional learning needs. </li>
</ul>
<p><strong> Other Tasks</strong></p>

<li>Other tasks may be required from time to time as directed by the Deputy Principal - Senior School or Principal</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Current NESA Accreditation and relevant tertiary qualifications</li>
<li>Current NSW Working with Children’s Check</li>
<li>Current First Aid certificate</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>EXPERIENCE</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in teams across an organisation to deliver shared goals</li>
<li>A demonstrated history of experience in being able to manage student wellbeing in a school</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>SKILLS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, strong interpersonal skills and experience in maintaining cooperative partnerships within the organisation</li>
<li>Willingness to engage in professional, supportive conversations with staff and parents with regards to behaviour support and accountability</li>

<p><strong>KEY SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p>
<p><strong>Essential</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Current NESA Accreditation and relevant tertiary qualifications </li>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in Learning Support. </li>
<li>Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers. </li>
<li>Knowledge and capacity to collaboratively plan, implement, monitor and evaluate personalised learning and support plans for students with a range of learning needs that support improved educational outcomes and support their inclusion in the NCCD. </li>
<li>Highly developed interpersonal, administration, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with teachers, school support staff, students and parents. </li>
<li>Commitment to the ethos and values of Trinity Anglican College as a faith-based learning community. </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Desirable </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience using assistive technologies and digital tools to support learning. </li>
<li>Understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements across Years 7–12, including HSC pathways. </li>
</ul>

<p>Terms and Conditions of employment will be in accordance with the 'Anglican Schools Commission Inc. NSW Enterprise Agreement 2023<i>'</i>. Remuneration will be determined by the Principal according to qualifications and experience.</p>
