Djerriwarrh Community College is seeking a Principal looking to make a meaningful impact in a special assistance school environment. The position is a job share role (0.6 FTE ongoing), commencing January 2026.

<p><strong>About Us</strong></p>
<p>Djerriwarrh Community College is a registered independent special assistance senior secondary school located in Melton. We deliver the Victorian Pathway Certificate (VPC) and VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) for students aged 15–19 years, providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. The college is moving to a newly built campus in early 2026.</p>
<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>As Principal, you will lead a small, community-based school with a maximum enrolment of 60 students in 2026. You will be responsible for:</p>
<ul>
<li>School operations, finances, compliance, and risk mitigation</li>
<li>Learning programs and student welfare</li>
<li>Staffing, administration, and strategic management</li>
<li>Acting as Executive Officer to the Djerriwarrh Community College (DCC), School Council and Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services (DCES) Board</li>
<li>Leading the implementation of school policies and procedures ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities</li>
</ul>
<p>This is a <strong>part-time job share position (0.6 FTE)</strong>, with preferred working days <strong>Monday to Wednesday</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>Essential Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration</li>
<li>Working with Children Check clearance</li>
<li>Satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check</li>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualification</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in a similar leadership role (ie Principal or Deputy/Assistant Principal) ideally within a school setting</li>
<li>A strong understanding and commitment to child safety legislative requirements, equal opportunity and Work Health and Safety within a school environment.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Desirable Attributes</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in the independent special assistance sector</li>
<li>Experience in Trauma informed practice and working with vulnerable young people</li>
<li>Youth Mental Health First Aid, Berry Street Education Model, First Aid & Anaphylaxis Training (or willingness to undertake)</li>
</ul>
