An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced High School Learning Support Assistant to join the Willunga Waldorf School for the 2026 school year at the earliest opportunity.

<p>As a Learning Support Assistant in the High School, you will assist the Main Lesson and specialist teachers in creating an inclusive, supportive and creative learning environment for the class, particularly for neurodiverse students and those with additional learning support needs. You may provide close one-to-one student support within the classroom, in specialist lessons and during break times helping students engage with the curriculum as well as the social fabric of the school. You will further support teachers in meeting individual student learning goals.</p> <p>The successful applicant will have a genuine interest in and warmth for assisting young people in a Waldorf classroom setting. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, be a good observer and listener, and able to follow the teacher’s methodology. With their positive outlook and general attitude, they are willing and able to find ways of meeting and supporting each young person where they are at.</p> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills with young people</li> <li>Experience and interest in working with neurodiverse students</li> <li>Knowledge or an understanding of the Waldorf/Steiner Curriculum is highly desirable</li> <li>Ability to find ways of meeting an individual’s needs that work</li> <li>Good observer and listener</li> <li>Ability to use initiative and to accept guidance and feedback</li> <li>Excellent time management and personal organizational skills</li> <li>Ability to adhere to the confidentiality requirements of a school environment</li> <li>Must have full working rights in Australia</li> </ul> <p>Applicants must hold a current “not-prohibited” SA Working with Children Check and provide/obtain RRHAN-EC and Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting certificates before commencement of employment.</p> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <p>Willunga Waldorf School offers an exciting, supportive and rewarding environment to work in.
