St Bernard’s is a vibrant learning community providing holistic boys’ education with a strong focus on academic excellence. The College are seeking a suitably qualified full time Science Laboratory Technician commencing 2026 Academic Year for a one year leave replacement position.

<p><strong>The main responsibilities of the position include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate practical work and laboratory techniques to students and assist teaching staff when required.</li> <li>Devise and prepare practical work and maintain an efficient system for use and allocation of materials and equipment, setting a priority system where necessary.</li> <li>Prepare all materials for practical lessons in advance when given appropriate notification in consultation with the science teachers</li> <li>Advise and assist science teaching staff in safety matters relating to the science laboratory</li> <li>Prepare solutions, stains and media for use in the laboratory.</li> <li>Maintain a safe chemical storage/handling/disposal system in accordance with current regulations, including an inventory of chemicals.&nbsp;</li> <li>Other duties as outlined in the position description.</li> </ul> <p>The successful applicant can demonstrate the following competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in laboratory work, preferably in a school environment</li> <li>Strong administration and organisational skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work in a team of staff.</li> <li>Experience within a Catholic or similar educational organisation</li> <li>Current Working with Children's</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Please complete the online application on the College website www.sbc.vic.edu.au/about-us/employment-opportunities and clicking on the "Apply Now' button.&nbsp;</p> <p>Applications close <strong>4.00pm, Friday 16 January 2026</strong>.</p> <p><i>The College promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children and young people.</i></p>
