The Specialist: Personalised Learning leads a team of skilled Diverse Learning practitioners in providing expert advice, strategic guidance, and hands-on support to schools in meeting the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities and additional learning needs.<br><br>
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>leading Diverse Learning initiatives aligned with Sydney Catholic Schools' strategic goals</li>
<li>offering leadership to the achievement of articulated Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) goals within the portfolio of Diverse Learning</li>
<li>leading within a pedagogical design framework built on a neuroscientific platform, inclusive of research-informed educational theories, based on NESA K-12 curriculum and incorporating contemporary instructional strategies and assessment practices</li>
<li>co-leading the large-scale strategic implementation of integrating a range of assistive technologies into leaders' and teachers' practice to enhance learning opportunities for students</li>
<li>investigating, promoting and leading professional learning in strengthening approaches to personalised learning for students with disability</li>
<li>leading the work of a sector group team in competently facilitating all NCCD processes and constructing regular reports for various SCS stakeholders as required</li>
<li>ensuring all NCCD processes are central to the sector team's work and are seen as integral informants in creating targeted learning goals and carefully monitoring students' progress</li>
<li>designing professional team development focused on NESA syllabus requirements K-12 and skilling team members to support a range of disability needs across cognitive, sensory, physical, social, and emotional disability</li>
<li>creating dynamic professional learning plans to support all sector team members to embrace and perform their roles as K-12 Diverse Learning practitioners</li>
<li>leading the planning and implementation of school leader and teacher capacity-building professional learning and evaluating the impact of such initiatives within networks</li>
<li>ensuring that Diverse Learning support across SCS utilises a range of existing and emerging assistive technologies that expand students' educational opportunities and enhance functional independence</li>
<li>assisting and supporting Principals in their leadership responses to supporting students with disabilities.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About You</strong><br><br>
To be successful in this position, you must possess:</p>
<ul>
<li>a university Degree in Education and current NESA accreditation, operating at the Highly Accomplished of Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers</li>
<li>recognised teaching qualification with a major in Special Education</li>
<li>the ability to demonstrate practice equivalent to Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers</li>
<li>a minimum of eight years of teaching experience in a school</li>
<li>highly effective system/school level leadership experience</li>
<li>competence in leading staff professional learning</li>
<li>demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and implementing school-wide initiatives</li>
<li>experience in using data analysis to inform educational decisions</li>
<li>demonstrated ability to articulate contemporary educational trends in both local and international contexts</li>
<li>demonstrated high-level written, oral and presentation skills</li>
<li>demonstrated ability to work with sensitive and confidential information</li>
<li>a willingness to respect, support, and uphold the mission, ethos, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of SCS.</li>
</ul>
<p>Desirable:</p>
<ul>
<li>postgraduate degree in Special Education, Learning Difficulties or related discipline</li>
<li>knowledge of the Catholic Systemic Schools/Systems</li>
<li>a current driver's licence and access to a car.</li>
</ul>
