Frensham Schools is seeking a suitably qualified Grounds and Facilities Team Member to join us on a full-time basis.

<p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p> <p>Established in 1913, Frensham is one of Australia’s most respected boarding and day schools for girls. Frensham Junior School was founded in 1954 and is now the leading academic, co-educational primary school and preschool in the Southern Highlands. Frensham Schools campuses are situated on approximately 120 hectares in the scenic Southern Highlands of New South Wales.</p> <p>Frensham Schools' Grounds and Facilities Team is responsible for the effective day-to-day management, maintenance and operational upkeep of the Schools’ buildings, grounds and facilities. In this role you will work with the team to ensure that the Schools’ grounds, gardens and sporting facilities reflect the Schools’ high standards and values – maintaining a welcoming, sustainable and functional environment for students, staff and visitors whilst ensuring that the Schools’ campuses remain safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose.<br> &nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>Facilities &amp; Maintenance Operations</strong></p> <ul> <li>Carry out day-to-day general maintenance tasks across all School campuses.</li> <li>Assist with reactive and scheduled maintenance activities for buildings, plant and grounds.</li> <li>Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and report issues to the Head of Grounds and Facilities.</li> <li>Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and equipment logs as required.</li> <li>Assist with set-up and pack-down for School events when required.</li> <li>Follow safe work practices and comply with all WHS procedures and requirements.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Grounds, Gardens &amp; Environmental Presentation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Maintain the presentation and upkeep of grounds, gardens, lawns, ovals and outdoor spaces.</li> <li>Support seasonal garden and grounds maintenance programs including planting, pruning, irrigation, mulching and pest management.</li> <li>Assist with preparation and maintenance of sports fields and outdoor recreational areas to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.</li> <li>Maintain outdoor areas in a manner that reflects the Schools’ identity, values and high presentation standards.</li> <li>Assist with landscaping projects, garden improvements and sustainability initiatives.</li> <li>Support tree-care activities, including monitoring and reporting tree risks and assisting arborists on site.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preventative &amp; Long-Term Maintenance Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support the implementation of preventative maintenance schedules.</li> <li>Assist in monitoring condition of buildings, facilities and equipment, reporting issues that may require long-term planning or lifecycle replacement.</li> <li>Provide feedback to the Head of Grounds and Facilities to help refine maintenance processes.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Risk, Safety &amp; Compliance</strong></p> <ul> <li>Follow all safety procedures, including chemical handling, equipment operation and use of PPE.</li> <li>Contribute to property-related risk assessments and safety inspections.</li> <li>Support emergency management and security procedures as directed.</li> <li>Report hazards, incidents or unsafe conditions promptly.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Teamwork &amp; Collaboration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to contribute to a positive workplace culture by working collaboratively within the Grounds and Facilities Team to deliver high-quality service.</li> <li>Attend team meetings and contribute to planning and prioritisation of tasks.</li> <li>Undertake training, skills development and equipment-operation instruction as directed.</li> <li>Support a culture of safety, respect and reliability within the team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential</strong></p> <ul> <li>Drivers Licence.</li> <li>Ability to operate machinery and tools.</li> <li>Must be willing to complete a pre-employment medical, if required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to operate machinery and tools.</li> <li>A Medium Rigid (MR) Licence (training may be provided if necessary).</li> <li>Trade qualifications would be highly regarded.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Commencement: </strong>As soon as practicable.</p> <p><i>All staff at Frensham Schools take an active role in ensuring our Child Protection programs, policies and processes are at the forefront of all that we do.
