<p>This position is for 12 months.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>Learning Support staff are responsible for working within teaching teams to support and nurture students with diverse needs. Learning Support staff at St Patrick’s Primary School are expected to:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate high levels of confidentiality and flexibility</li> <li>Be familiar with and comply with the school's child-safe policy and code of conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety</li> <li>Assist in the provision of a child-safe environment for students</li> <li>Demonstrate duty of care to students in relation to their physical and mental wellbeing</li> </ul> <p><strong>Some of the Key Responsibilities of this role will include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>To provide a commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety, wellbeing and protection of children and young people;</li> <li>Keep student observational records where required, as directed by the classroom teacher.</li> <li>Attend to ill students and administer first aid.</li> <li>To participate in classroom incursions/excursions as required.</li> <li>To conduct appropriate support sessions and programs for the children under the guidance of classroom teachers.</li> <li>To work with groups or individual children, as directed by the classroom teacher.</li> <li>To set up and pack up activities, as directed by the classroom teacher.</li> <li>To keep records of children’s learning and support, as directed by the classroom teacher</li> <li>You may be required to attend Support Group meetings for children, as planned by the Learning Diversity Leader.</li> <li>To attend Learning Support Officer Professional Learning Team meetings under the guidance of the Learning Diversity Leader.</li> <li>To attend professional development.</li> <li>To actively participate in school events and staff social functions.
