Redeemer Lutheran College is seeking an experienced College Counsellor to take on this Permanent position commencing January 2026.

<p>Redeemer Lutheran College is seeking an experienced Junior School Counsellor to take on this permanent part time (30 hrs pe week), term time position commencing January 2026.&nbsp; Days and hours of work will be negotiated with the successful candidate. &nbsp;The ideal candidate will hold (or be able to obtain) registration with the ACA or PACFA.</p> <p>The Counsellors at Redeemer Lutheran College are one part of a broader Pastoral team, but also they have the ability to work autonomously when needed.&nbsp; This team is inclusive of every employee that provides pastoral care to students and parents as part of their broader daily role. More specifically, a Redeemer counsellor is a member of a smaller Pastoral Practices management team inclusive of: Leadership Teams, Pastoral Care Leaders, Dean of Faith and Chaplain. In this team, authority to direct team members is held by the Principal and Head of Sub Schools.</p> <p><strong>Key skills and qualities of the ideal candidate</strong></p> <ul> <li>The capacity to assess and respond to students with diverse needs and liaise with appropriate support services and professionals;</li> <li>Knowledge of interventions appropriate for children aged 5 years to 18 years;</li> <li>Ability to collaborate with the college pastoral care team and teachers to manage and support student needs;</li> <li>Ability to develop strong relationships with families in a bid to support student development;</li> <li>A passion for working with students to affect positive change.</li> <li>Be able to support the Christian Ethos of the College.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills</li> <li>Appropriate administrative skills to meet the necessary standard of record keeping.</li> </ul> <p>Redeemer Lutheran College is committed to child safety.
