Instrumental Music Teacher – PIANO AND ACCOMPANIST

<p>Applications are sought for the casual position of Instrumental Music Teacher – Piano and Accompanist at the Mornington and Rosebud Campuses of Padua College. The role of the Instrumental Music Teacher – Piano and Accompanist is to work with the Director of Performing Arts to provide:</p> <p>• Individual and small group instruction in piano to students in Years 7 to 12;</p> <p>• Timetabling of music lessons</p> <p>• Large group work on request;</p> <p>• Accompany students for exams and performances</p> <p>• Assistance in ensemble management;</p> <p>• Prepare students for external examinations (Trinity/AMEB) if appropriate, to the student’s level of development.</p> <p>• Attendance at Performing Arts concerts (as outlined by the Director of Performing Arts);</p> <p>• Maximisation of students' participation in the co-curricular and curricular aspects of the Performing Arts Department;</p> <p>• Relevant curriculum under the direction of the Director of Performing Arts;</p> <p>• Promotion of the Performing Arts life and culture of the College;</p> <p>• Support to the Director of Performing Arts in ensuring that appropriate reporting and lesson content is provided for students;</p> <p>• Demonstrated continued growth within the department;</p> <p>• Flexible teaching methods to suit individual students’ needs;</p> <p>• Written semester reports using the College reporting system;</p> <p>• Support for the College ethos; and</p> <p>• Other duties as described from time to time by the Deputy Principals - Heads of Campus.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria &amp; Requirements</strong></p> <p>• Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent</p> <p>• Experience tutoring piano in a school setting.</p> <p>• A valid and current Working with Children Check or current VIT registration.</p> <p>• Demonstrated high level of competence as a performer and innovative teacher – beginner to advanced level;</p> <p>• Demonstrated high quality teaching skills enabling students to reach their full potential;</p> <p>• Commitment to the development/growth in student numbers;</p> <p>• Demonstrated willingness to support the ethos of Padua College; including an active commitment to the College Mission and Vision;</p> <p>• Familiarity with and compliance with Padua College’s Child-Safety and Wellbeing Policy and Code of Conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety;</p> <p>• Familiarity with and compliance with legislated Occupational Health and Safety practices and participate in consultative processes to ensure workplace safety for staff and students;</p> <p>• Maintaining currency of all relevant legislated and required College Occupational Health and Safety modules, and all First Aid and CPR Qualifications;</p> <p>• Undertaking regular professional learning to maintain a high level of awareness of current and best practice in the major areas of responsibility associated with the role.</p>
