<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>As a member of the school executive team, the Assistant Principal/Religious Education Coordinator (AP/REC) supports the Principal in leading the school community to deliver authentic, professional Catholic education with care and compassion.</p>
<p>The role, in collaboration with the Principal, is responsible for accompanying students, families and staff to know and love Christ and to grow in faith, as well as embedding a culture of excellence and continuous improvement that ensures that every student is challenged and supported to reach their full potential. </p>
<p>This role is responsible for ensuring system, school and individual goals are in strong alignment in the practical life of the school. A key focus of the role is to lead learning through Collaborative Coaching as well as the highly effective delivery of Curriculum, Assessment and Pedagogy across all key learning areas. The role is also responsible for the CSBB Religious Education Curriculum at the school, leading and coordinating liturgies and other faith-based experiences, and developing strong connections between Parish and School in promoting the faith life of the community. </p>
<p>The AP/REC is required to lead the school when requested if the Principal is unavailable. Flexibility is also needed to pick up daily responsibilities of the Principal, where required.</p>
<p><strong>About you</strong></p>

<li>Middle leadership experience demonstrated by Lead Teacher practice or equivalence as described in the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers</li>
<li>Effective leadership, development, implementation and/or evaluative experience of wellbeing, evangelisation and catechesis and learning</li>
<li>Successfully led an effective school improvement initiative that improved the wellbeing and/or the learning experience and outcomes for all students</li>
<li>Effectively made use of data and evidence to inform and drive improvement</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience leading and/or responding to transformation and change</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience to create a cohesive team environment</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to engage and influence people to positively contribute to achieving outcomes</li>
<li>The ability to create an environment for people to work productively and purposefully</li>
<li>A track record of managing self to meet deadlines, deliver high quality work with emotional self-awareness and awareness of others</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills</li>
<li>The ability to engage with and evaluate relevant research, best practices and data to inform future practices</li>
<li>A keen eye for detail to deliver consistently accurate and informed written and verbal communications suitable for the receiving audience</li>
<li>NESA approved undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in Teaching or Education</li>
<li>Post-graduate qualifications (or working towards) in a related subject area (e.g. Leadership, Theology/RE, Wellbeing, Educational Leadership) from an approved tertiary institution</li>
<li>Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in a CSBB school (i.e. Level E)</li>
<li>Accreditation at (or working towards) Lead Teacher (desirable though not essential)</li>
<li>Knowledge of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers as they apply to learner diversity and wellbeing</li>
<li>Understanding of learner diversity and student wellbeing within a school and system context</li>
<li>Valid Working with Children Check</li>
</ul>
