<p>Applications are invited from qualified LSO to join a team dedicated to achieving engaging learning experiences that challenge children to achieve their personal best.&nbsp; The position is for up to 33 hours over 5 days and will begin at the commencement of 2026.&nbsp; Days and time fraction are negotiable.</p> <p>LSOs work closely with classroom teachers and take their direction from them. The role involves working as part of a team with classroom teachers to provide support for students with diverse needs.</p> <p>The successful applicant will support student learning under the direction of a teacher with individual and small groups of students both within and outside of the classroom to assist them with their educational and development programs.</p> <p>LSOs will also have the opportunity to run small Intervention groups in either Literacy or Numeracy using MiniLit, MaqLit or Bond Blocks. &nbsp;Training will be provided.</p> <p>It is expected that the successful applicant will:</p> <ul> <li>be committed to the values and ethos of the Catholic education system</li> <li>be highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly and enthusiastic</li> <li>have some experience working with students with a diverse range of needs.</li> <li>display effective communication and organisational skills and the ability to be flexible, proactive and resourceful.</li> <li>use initiative within the class environment to ensure optimal student support.</li> <li>be able to work as part of teams of various sizes</li> <li>be self motivated and able to work independently if necessary</li> <li>have the capacity to cater effectively for a diverse range of learning needs</li> <li>be able to build positive relationships with children and assist in creating learning environments where all are valued and challenged</li> <li>demonstrate an understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with students.</li> <li>be committed to professional learning and ongoing improvement</li> </ul> <p>This community of St Mary MacKillop is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.
