Lorien Novalis School is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Kindergarten Mentee/Assistant to work alongside our Early Childhood teachers in a nurturing Steiner environment. This role suits a qualified teacher or someone working toward their teaching qualification who is open to learning and growing within Steiner Education.

<p><strong>Commencing in Term 4, 2025, or Term 1, 2026.</strong><br> &nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Mentee/Assistant Position in Kindergarten</strong><br><strong>Full-time.</strong><br><br> We are seeking a qualified teacher or someone working towards a qualification to work in our Kindergarten classes alongside the teachers in a mentee/assistant role. You may also be interested to become a <i>Steiner School Class Teacher</i> and work alongside our current Class Teachers and Early Childhood teachers as an assistant/mentee and as a relief teacher when required.<br><br> This person would be enthusiastic, caring and loving toward children, and open to sharing with them a sense of wonder about the world.<br><br> The two Kindergarten classes at Lorien Novalis School provide a holistic and creative Steiner curriculum that nurtures the five- and six-year-old children and prepares them for their Primary School years.<br><br> Lorien Novalis School is situated in the Hills District of Sydney, about 45 minutes to the northwest of the city, nestled in lush bushlands and landscaped gardens. The school has been offering a rich and creative Steiner curriculum for over 50 years and has built a strong reputation for the diverse and engaging education that it provides.<br><br> Whether you have extensive knowledge of Steiner Education or a smaller amount, if you are keen on being a Kindergarten teacher in a Steiner school, this position might be perfect for you.<br><br> Extra attributes are essential:</p> <ul> <li>A respectful openness to learning the ethos and culture of Lorien Novalis and Steiner Education.</li> <li>A willingness to work cooperatively and professionally with staff and management, including attending out-of-school professional development opportunities, teacher meetings, artistic lessons and other study sessions.</li> <li>Eagerness to self-study about Steiner Education and Anthroposophy and demonstrate a growing understanding of Steiner’s indications on human development.</li> </ul> <p>It would be necessary to:</p> <ul> <li>Have qualifications or be working toward a qualification to be registered as a teacher with NESA – NSW Educational Standards Authority. (Conditional or Provisional Accreditation accepted)</li> <li>Hold a current NSW WWCC.</li> <li>Current First Aid Certificate.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
