<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>Reporting to the Head of Senior School, the Learning Support Teacher plays a pivotal role in supporting students with additional learning needs by identifying, assessing, planning and implementing effective learning adjustments. This role collaborates closely with classroom teachers to deliver differentiated, high-quality teaching that empowers all learners to thrive academically and personally.</p>
<p>The successful applicant will provide specialist guidance and targeted intervention to students, particularly those identified within the NCCD Substantial Level of Adjustment, and work collaboratively with staff, students, and families to ensure meaningful participation in all aspects of school life.</p>
<p>Commencing in term 1, 2026 (Monday, 19 January 2026) this role comes with a 0.4 - 0.6 teaching load. Generous remuneration above the published 2025 CMEA rates.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide individualised and small-group instruction to support students with diverse learning needs.</li>
<li>Develop, implement, and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), Behaviour Support Plans, and Transition Plans.</li>
<li>Collaborate with teachers to adjust curriculum, assessments, and classroom environments.</li>
<li>Support Year 7 transition processes for students with identified learning needs.</li>
<li>Conduct and analyse assessments (e.g. literacy and numeracy diagnostics, Best Start Year 7).</li>
<li>Work in partnership with students and families to establish and review learning goals.</li>
<li>Liaise with external therapists and agencies to coordinate student support.</li>
<li>Supervise and facilitate exam adjustments and disability provisions.</li>
<li>Contribute to data collection and reporting for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).</li>
<li>Assist in the implementation and coordination of NAPLAN processes.</li>
<li>Participate fully in the life of the school, including playground duties, staff development, and co-curricular activities.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential qualities and skills include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Accreditation to teach in NSW (NESA registration).</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in supporting students with additional learning needs (Years 7–12 preferred).</li>
<li>Strong understanding of the NCCD framework and associated documentation requirements.</li>
<li>Ability to implement evidence-based literacy and numeracy intervention strategies.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and parents.</li>
<li>Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.</li>
<li>Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and proactively within a team.</li>
