Sacred Heart Primary school is seeking a relational and aspirational educator to join our thriving Catholic community as Deputy Principal/ Wellbeing. Working in partnership with the Principal and leadership team, this role drives strategic change and innovation. We are looking for a faith-filled and collaborative leader who is passionate about empowering teachers, fostering student growth and nurturing a culture of inclusion, wellbeing and high expectations.
<p><strong>About the role</strong></p>
<p>Sacred Heart School strives for excellence and equity. We are located in the heart of Oakleigh, a vibrant, multi-cultural community. We currently have a student population of approximately 196 students. </p>
<p>The community of Sacred Heart is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced teachers to begin in January 2026. The successful applicant will embrace a shared role of Deputy Principal/Wellbeing and be employed at Sacred Heart in an ongoing capacity with the Deputy Principal role being a 3 year contract with provision for an extension of a further two years.</p>

<p><strong>The successful applicant will:</strong></p>

<li>lead and model the mission, vision, and values of Sacred Heart through visible, faith-based leadership grounded in service</li>
<li>provide strategic leadership in curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and professional learning with an emphasis on wellbeing</li>
<li>demonstrate an understanding of the MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement and an ability to lead the embedding of these within the school</li>
<li>drive the school’s Wellbeing framework, ensuring it reflects contemporary, evidence-based practice.</li>
<li>collaborate with Leaders to design, implement, and evaluate high-impact learning programs.</li>
<li>lead and work collaboratively to coordinate the Wellbeing Team including the Learning Diversity Leader, school Counsellor and the Learning Support Officers</li>
<li>build strong, cohesive staff relationships and promote a culture of collaboration and shared accountability.</li>
<li>provide a learning environment, which is inclusive, stimulating, affirming and safe.</li>
<li>nurture and develop the whole person, encompassing all learning areas while recognising individual talents and needs</li>
<li>participate in the traditions of our Catholic faith, striving to create an active, vibrant community enriched by the diverse cultures our families bring</li>
<li>provide a child safe environment in accordance with the child safe standards.</li>
<li>support staff induction and professional growth through structured coaching and feedback. </li>
<li>foster positive communication with families and the parish community..</li>

<p><strong>Applicants require:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Current VIT registration</li>
<li>Evidence of qualifications additional to initial teacher education showing a commitment to ongoing professional learning and development. Masters preferred.</li>
<li>Relevant experience in Catholic parish primary schools, or currently in a role associated with and supporting Catholic parish primary schools</li>
<li>Accreditation to teach Religious Education</li>
<li>Effective interpersonal and organisational skills</li>
<li>A commitment to Child Safe Standards and the wellbeing of children</li>
