Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) is seeking an Artist in Residence - Dance to work across both primary and secondary schools. This dynamic role is part of a vibrant Arts Education Program, where you'll mentor and inspire students to develop technical proficiency, explore creativity, and showcase their talents through engaging live performances.<br><br>
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>delivering high-quality dance instruction as part of SCS's Arts Education Program</li>
<li>leading and conducting ensemble rehearsals, preparing and supporting students for performances</li>
<li>providing targeted teaching to small groups as required</li>
<li>assisting in managing and distributing creative and performing arts resources to students</li>
<li>maintaining accurate attendance records for all rehearsals and workshops</li>
<li>working collaboratively with other Artists In Residence, Classroom Teachers and Archdiocesan Arts Education Officers to ensure the smooth running of arts events</li>
<li>ensuring all work activities align with SCS' vision, mission, values and Capability Framework</li>
<li>any other duties as directed from time to time.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About You</strong><br><br>
Our ideal candidate is a passionate about dance and possesses the following experience, skills and knowledge:</p>
<ul>
<li>a tertiary qualification in the related Artform, or currently studying the Artform at tertiary level</li>
<li>proven expertise as a skilled artist and tutor, with a strong track record of inspiring student creativity</li>
<li>a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across multiple school communities</li>
<li>a talent for engaging and motivating students of all skill levels and interests</li>
<li>exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail</li>
<li>flexibility to support performances, exhibitions, and events outside school hours</li>
<li>confidence using digital tools including Google Suite, Microsoft Office and other collaboration platforms</li>
<li>a current driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle</li>
<li>a willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.</li>
</ul>
<p>Desirable:</p>
<ul>
<li>experience in leading performing arts ensembles with confidence and creativity</li>
<li>experience in staging performance or exhibition events</li>
<li>knowledge of Catholic Systemic Schools/Systems.</li>
