We are looking for a Learning Support Officer to assist our students with additional learning needs to thrive. The position available starts at 8:45 am and finishes at 1:45 pm. The position is for 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday.

<p>St Christopher’s Primary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate&nbsp;<strong>Learning Support Officer</strong> to join our school. The successful applicant will deliver&nbsp;<strong>Tier 2 literacy intervention programs</strong>, including&nbsp;<strong>MiniLit Sage</strong> and&nbsp;<strong>MacqLit</strong> and will work closely with classroom teachers and school leaders to to support students who require additional assistance in developing reading and comprehension skills.</p> <p>This role involves working with small groups of students, implementing structured, evidence-based lessons, and monitoring student progress to ensure effective learning outcomes.</p> <p>The role is a 20 hours per week position working from Monday to Thursday.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Deliver&nbsp;<strong>MiniLit </strong>and&nbsp;<strong>MacqLit</strong> intervention programs with fidelity and consistency</li> <li>Support students in small groups and one-on-one settings to build literacy skills</li> <li>Collect and record data on student progress to inform ongoing instruction</li> <li>Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement student learning goals</li> <li>Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment</li> <li>Participate in professional learning related to literacy intervention and student support</li> <li>Support teachers by providing a consistent approach to learning and behaviour management.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>The ideal candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Have a genuine passion for supporting student learning and wellbeing</li> <li>Possess experience with structured literacy programs and/or a willingness to be trained in MiniLit and MacqLit Intervention</li> <li>Demonstrate strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Work effectively as part of a collaborative team</li> <li>Be committed to the school’s values and inclusive education practices</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Certificate III or IV in Education Support (or equivalent) desirable</li> <li>Experience working in primary education preferred</li> <li>Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and relevant child safety training</li> </ul> <p>The successful applicant will have:<br> &nbsp;- a passion for working with children with additional needs and their families</p> <p>- knowledge and skills suited to working with students with additional needs (prior experience and/or study in this area would be a bonus)</p> <p>- an ability to work within a variety of teams</p> <p>- a willingness to respect the Catholic culture of our school</p> <p>- a can-do attitude and strong work ethic</p> <p>- working with children check and police check</p> <p>-minimum Certificate 3 in Education Support or studying in the &nbsp;field of education</p> <p>St Christopher's Catholic Primary School holds the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of Catholic education.
