<p><strong>Catholic Education Northern Territory:</strong></p> <p>Catholic Education has a network of schools in both urban centres and remote communities. For teachers there are many opportunities in the Territory. We have 18 Catholic schools in the region - five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre&nbsp;and five remote schools.</p> <p><strong>St John's Catholic College:</strong></p> <p>St John's Catholic College is calling for applications for the position of Acting Head of Faculty (Tier 3) for Semester 1, 2026. We strive for excellence and ensure the holistic development of each student through a balanced approach to faith, academic, sporting and cultural activities.</p> <p><strong>Primary Objective:</strong></p> <p>In consultation with the identified Strategic Leadership Team member, and as a member of the Teaching and Learning Team, coordinate the effective delivery of the relevant Australian Curriculum learning areas and SACE subjects at St John’s Catholic College, Darwin.</p> <p>Please note that the College operates on a three Head of Faculty model. This position will have direct oversight over a range of subjects and courses, including but not limited to: English, History, Geography, Legal Studies, Indonesian, EIF, Drama, Dance, Child Studies, Music, Art, Design and Communication, Creative Arts, and Business Innovation.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The duties and responsibilities of this position are in addition to the employee’s primary role and responsibilities.</strong></p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead, develop and manage the faculty to enhance a culture that promotes learning and develops an expert teaching team in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers:&nbsp;<a href="https://www.aitsl.edu.au/" rel="nofollow">https://www.aitsl.edu.au/</a>&nbsp;</li> <li>Lead and coordinate the faculty to ensure the provision of education in line with College, system and jurisdiction policies, practices and processes.</li> <li>Review and renew curriculum documents and faculty processes to support a systematic curriculum delivery. Documents and processes include but not limited to: scope and sequences, learning and assessment plans, planners and programs, College approved textbooks / resources, assessment tasks, assessment calendars and standards validation / moderation.</li> <li>Support the utilisation of the Bring Your Own Device Laptop Program (BYOD) and the implementation and operation of the Learning Management System (LMS) and other online learning resources.</li> <li>Coordinate events, excursions and activities to engage and promote the curriculum to students and the College Community.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide leadership and support to the faculty team to implement effective pedagogical practices aligned with the School Wide Pedagogy.</li> <li>In consultation with the nominated member of the Strategic Leadership Team, lead the faculty to analyse and discuss data to inform planning, teaching, assessment and reporting.&nbsp;</li> <li>Under the direction of the nominated member of the Strategic Leadership Team, provide a high level of support to the reporting process.&nbsp;</li> <li>Support student tracking processes, and maintain regular communication with Parents /&nbsp;Carers and Staff on relevant matters regarding the faculty and the academic progress and achievement of students.&nbsp;</li> <li>Promote the faculty to the College community, provide subject counselling to students and their families, and make recommendations to the identified member of the Strategic Leadership Team on the formation of classes in line with the Targeted Placement policy.&nbsp;</li> <li>Manage the faculty budget and resources in consultation with the Finance Manager.</li> <li>Support the College with the attraction, recruitment, orientation, induction and mentoring of faculty staff.</li> <li>Actively contribute as a member of the Teaching and Learning Team and regularly meet with the identified member of the Strategic Leadership Team.</li> <li>Develop and maintain productive school-community partnerships with CENT system and schools, the Department of Education, the SACE Board and other relevant organisations in consultation with the identified member of the Strategic Leadership Team.</li> <li>Monitor, review and make recommendations to the identified member of the Strategic Leadership Team regarding the faculty.</li> <li>Any other duties as directed by the identified member of the Principal. &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Selection Criteria:</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Current Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).</li> <li>Current Registration with the Teacher Registration Board NT.</li> <li>Understanding of and the willingness to support and contribute to the Catholic ethos of the College.&nbsp;</li> <li>Capacity to lead learning and manage a team that supports improved education outcomes.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Highly Desired:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Accreditation C.</li> <li>Engagement with professional learning for Middle Leaders / Aspiring Leaders.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of: AITSL Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, Australian Curriculum, SACE, NTCET and ATAR.&nbsp;</li> <li>EALD/TEFL qualifications.</li> <li>Ability to be part of a solutions focused team valuing diversity and inclusion.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Learn More:</strong></p> <p>Learn more by visiting our website: <a href="https://www.stjohnsnt.catholic.edu.au/" rel="nofollow">https://www.stjohnsnt.catholic.edu.au/</a>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>How To Apply:</strong></p> <p>St John's Catholic College is committed to a Child Safe school environment and has extensive recruitment and screening processes in place.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume including three professional referees, TRB NT Registration Certificate and copy of Ochre Card to the Principal at: <a href="mailto:principal.stjohns@nt.catholic.edu.au?subject=Acting%20Head%20of%20Faculty%20-%20Tier%203%20%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">principal.stjohns@nt.catholic.edu.au</a></strong></p>
