At St Marianne Cope Catholic Primary School, a new school in Truganina, we believe every child is made in the image and likeness of God — unique and gifted. Guided by the compassion and courage of our patron, we are seeking a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to help every learner feel included, supported, and empowered to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
<p>We are seeking a passionate and caring Learning Support Officer (LSOs) who is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children.<br>
Working under the guidance of the Student Engagement and Wellbeing Leader and the Deputy Principal - Learning and Teaching, the LSO will collaborate with teachers, students, and families to ensure every learner - particularly those with additional or complex needs - feels included, supported, and empowered to reach their potential.</p>
<p>At St Marianne Cope, LSAs play an integral role in supporting students’ <strong>l</strong>earning, wellbeing, behaviour, and social development within a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework. Our approach is deeply aligned with the MACS Vision for Engagement, fostering a learning community where every child is known, valued, and actively engaged.</p>
<p><strong>Position:</strong> Part-time 0.81 FTE (5 days per week, 8:30am – 3:15pm)<br><strong>Commencement:</strong> Tuesday, 27 January 2026</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide individual and small-group support to students with diverse learning, behavioural, and social-emotional needs.</li>
<li>Assist teachers in implementing suitable learning adjustments and behaviour support strategies aligned with the MTSS framework.</li>
<li>Build positive, trusting, and respectful relationships with students that foster belonging and engagement.</li>
<li>Support teachers, families, and specialists to promote students’ holistic growth - academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.</li>
<li>Contribute actively to our inclusive, compassionate, and faith-filled school environment.</li>

<li>Strong communicators who can work collaboratively as part of a team.</li>
<li>Committed to upholding and advancing the MACS Vision for Engagement and Vision for Instruction, supporting a culture of active learning, personalised support, and inclusive engagement for every student.</li>
<li>Experienced as a Learning Support Assistant, Teacher Assistant, or in a similar role.</li>
<li>Holding (or working towards)<strong> </strong>Certificate III/IV in Education Support or Disability<strong> </strong>Support qualifications.</li>

<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>

<li>Current Working With Children Check (WWCC - current as of 27/1/26);</li>
<li>Current National Police Check (current as of 27/1/26);</li>
<li>Commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic education;</li>
<li>Willingness to support the school’s mission as a faith-filled foundation community</li>
<li>The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as team skills.</li>
