<p>Lyons Early Childhood School, located in the Woden Valley region of the ACT, offers high quality education and care for children from birth to Year 2. The school has a current enrolment of 141 students. The school provides high quality learning, integrated service delivery, and family support and participation with learning and teaching guided by educational and social research in best early childhood practice.</p>
<p>Lyons Early Childhood School offers high quality learning experiences aligned to the Early Years Learning Framework (preschool) and Australian Curriculum (Kindergarten to Year 2). The school builds strong foundations for all learners balancing formal and personalised learning through rich, authentic learning experiences with the explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy as a foundation of learning. Other areas of the curriculum are investigated through play and inquiry-based learning. Knowledge of reconciliation, respect and recognition of First Nations People is embedded through programs and experiences.</p>
<p>Learning programs that support the development of students’ social and emotional skills include Friendly Schools Plus and Peaceful Kids. Positive Behaviour for Learning principles underpin practice. The school is committed to building a strong school community and supports the development and growth of all children through positive and trusting relationships and partnerships with and between children, families, school staff, Woden Community Services and the wider community, leading to increased learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and their families.</p>
<p><strong>Eligibility/Other Requirements:</strong></p>

<li>Prior to commencing in this role a minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification; a current full teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT TQI) and a current registration issued under the <i>Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011</i> is required.
