<p><strong>About this Opportunity</strong><br><br>
We are looking for an energised, talented and passionate <strong>Deputy Head of Junior School: Learning and Teaching (P-6)</strong> to join the Redlands team.<br><br>
The Deputy Head of Junior School: Learning and Teaching (P-6) is responsible for leading and managing an exceptional academic program and ensuring high-quality learning and teaching across P-6. This role involves supporting the Head of Junior School in pedagogy, curriculum and assessment leadership, implementing a differentiated curriculum, overseeing effective assessment and reporting practices, mentoring teachers, and contributing to the school's overall learning support and enrichment strategy.<br><br><br><br><strong>About you</strong><br><br>
The successful applicant will be a highly experienced and passionate educational leader with a strong background in pedagogy, curriculum and assessment for primary-aged students, exceptional instructional and mentoring skills, a proven ability to lead continuous improvement and collaborative problem-solving and a commitment to high academic standards and professional development.<br><br><br>
You will have the following <strong>knowledge, experience and skills:</strong><br><br><br><br>
· Expertise in pedagogy, curriculum and assessment for primary-aged students.<br><br>
· Proven ability to lead the collaborative design, development, implementation and evaluation of a P-6 conceptual program of inquiry within a bespoke transdisciplinary curriculum framework.<br><br>
· Experience in implementing high-quality and differentiated curriculum and instructional practices.<br><br>
· Strong understanding of rich assessment practices to showcase students' knowledge and understanding.<br><br>
· Ability to utilise formative assessment data to develop targeted learning and teaching programs.<br><br>
· Experience implementing progressive reporting within a Junior School setting.<br><br>
· Knowledge of strategic direction and curriculum development in line with Redlands core strategies, such as the Redlands Learning Platform.<br><br>
· Proven experience in leading reviews of teaching and learning programs using various data points.<br><br><br><br><strong>Successful applicants will have the following competencies:</strong><br><br>
· Support the Head of Junior School in leading pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment across P-6.<br><br>
· Be a proactive member of the Junior School Leadership Team.<br><br>
· Enable and sustain a coherent approach to developing a future-focused curriculum program.<br><br>
· Initiate and lead collaborative monitoring of individual and cohort student progress to inform teaching adjustments.<br><br>
· Mentor and support teachers to improve individual and collective practice, leading continuous improvement.<br><br>
· Demonstrate exemplary practice and set high expectations for students and staff, participating in classroom teaching as needed.<br><br>
