<p>We are seeking to appoint a dynamic educator with passion and experience in primary education and sport to join our Junior School team.</p>
<p><strong>Position Summary</strong><br>
The Sports Coordinator will work closely with the Sports Administrator to advocate, administer and facilitate the sporting programs in the Junior School.</p>
<p><strong>Reports to:</strong> Director of Academic Operations<br><strong>Status and Hours: </strong> Full Time, Permanent position<br>
Student supervision hours are 8 am – 3.30 pm, although an understanding is required that the role will require greater hours than this, including attendance at weekly staff meetings and other after-hours events.<br><strong>Full Time Equivalent (FTE):</strong> 1.0<br><strong>Leadership Allowance: </strong> Leadership Level 1<br><strong>Commencement Date:</strong> Term 1 2026<br><strong>Dress Code:</strong> Oran Park Anglican College requires staff to dress in a professional manner, fitting of an independent school.</p>
<p><strong>Major Responsibilities</strong><br>
The Sports Coordinator is responsible to the Principal through the Head of Junior School and the Director of Academic Operations for:</p>
<ul>
<li>Planning and managing the annual Sports programs which includes budgeting, organisation, booking of specialists and venues.</li>
<li>Represent the College as IPSSO and CSSA Coordinator and communicate decisions to relevant personnel.</li>
<li>Oversight of College primary sports carnivals – Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics and coordinate student participation in CSSA and CIS.</li>
<li>Designing Risk Assessments for all sporting activities and carnivals in P-6. Managing risk levels and ensuring sporting equipment is maintained in working order.</li>
<li>Organising coaching clinics from NSW Sporting Organisations for teaching coaches, to ensure qualified coaching standards are met.</li>
<li>Liaison with local and NSW sporting bodies regarding clinics to encourage sport participation of students at local level.</li>
<li>Liaising with parents in relation to sports matters and representative pathways.</li>
<li>Communicating sports results for publication in the College newsletter.</li>
<li>Working collaboratively with other staff to promote the College’s values: courage, curiosity, craftsmanship, collaboration and compassion.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Professional and Personal Attributes</strong><br>
The Primary classroom teacher must have the capacity to build effective relationships with students, staff and parents to enhance student wellbeing and outcomes. Essential criteria for this role include;</p>
<ul>
<li>A committed Christian and an active member of a church.</li>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualifications and NESA teacher accreditation.</li>
<li>Ability to promote the acquisition of movement skills and nurture positive attitudes towards physical activity.</li>
<li>Well-developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to lead, inspire and mentor teachers with a range of experience.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.</li>
<li>Well-developed written, oral and organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.</li>
<li>An ability to work effectively as a team member.</li>
<li>A commitment to ongoing personal professional development.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Additional Information</strong></p>
<p><strong>References:</strong> Provide three (3) referees one of whom should be the Minister of the Christian community you serve within, who can support your application.<br><strong>Salary: </strong> In accordance with the Independent Schools (Teachers) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025 or future approved agreement.<br><strong>Child Safety:</strong> Oran Park Anglican College is committed to child safety.
