Come and be part of a community that truly values and invests in you.</p> <p><strong>Assistant Head of Faculty Duties</strong></p> <p>An Assistant Head of Faculty is responsible for;</p> <ul> <li>Supporting the Head of Faculty, particularly with the administrative requirements of the faculty.</li> <li>Contributing to, setting and achieving faculty goals.</li> <li>Collaborating to lead faculty processes including BSSS compliance, learning and assessment requirement, moderation processes, differentiation.</li> <li>Support the organisation of faculty specific events, including competitions, carnivals, information events, sharecases, excursions, enrichment activities.</li> <li>Enable effective and consistent use of the Learning Management System (The Portal) across the faculty.</li> <li>Providing support for personalised plans as relevant to your faculty.</li> <li>Communicate with parents regarding faculty matters.</li> <li>Engage with professional networks.</li> <li>Other duties as directed by the Head of Faculty or Head of Senior School.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Teaching Duties</strong></p> <ul> <li>Use a broad range of teaching strategies to deliver quality programs that are inclusive of all students and are responsive to their learning strengths and needs.</li> <li>Establish a rapport with students to create inclusive, supportive and cohesive learning environments.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with colleagues.</li> <li>Communicate with colleagues, students and parents in a respectful, effective and professional way.</li> <li>Actively participate in the school’s co-curricular program, providing appropriate duty of care and supervision.</li> <li>Participate in the pastoral care program and if required, teach a Pastoral Care class.</li> <li>Actively participate in professional learning activities aligned with the school’s priorities.</li> <li>Other duties as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>An appropriate 4 Year Education Degree and registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute.</li> <li>Demonstrated passion for effective learning and teaching.</li> <li>Experience as a secondary teacher.</li> <li>Demonstrated leadership skills/experience in pedagogy and curriculum development.</li> <li>Demonstrated capacity as an instructional leader.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Strong administration and organisational skills, including in the use of School Box.</li> <li>Willingness to deliver professional learning to teachers.</li> <li>Interest in, and willingness to explore, innovative practices.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary, Terms and Conditions</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will be employed under the Independent Schools (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025, as a Level 1 leadership position.</p> <p>The Assistant Head of Faculty may be required to be present on the campus before and beyond the regular timetabled day and during non-term time.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The Application</strong></p> <p>Applicants should provide the following documents:</p> <ul> <li>Covering letter, addressing the criteria listed above and outlining how you would approach the position (no more than 3 pages in length).</li> <li>Curriculum vitae (no more than 4 pages).</li> <li>A certified copy of your academic transcript.</li> <li>Teacher Quality Institute registration.&nbsp; More information about registration is available at <a href="http://www.tqi.act.edu.au/registration" rel="nofollow">http://www.tqi.act.edu.au/registration</a>.</li> <li>Working with Vulnerable People check.</li> <li>Details of three professional referees, preferably one referee should be the applicant’s current minister.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Applications close:</strong> COB Wednesday, 15 October 2025<br><strong>An early application is advised as we reserve the right to close the vacancy early if sufficient suitable applications are received.</strong></p>
