This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Sydney Catholic Schools' (SCS) framework, systems, and initiatives aimed at identifying, assessing, and mitigating fraud and corruption risks within the broader enterprise risk management strategy. It plays a critical part in safeguarding the integrity and ethical standards of SCS, with a strong emphasis on proactive prevention, effective detection, and timely response to fraud and corruption threats.<br><br>
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SCS's fraud and corruption control framework, ensuring alignment with the broader enterprise risk management strategy</li>
<li>conducting targeted risk assessments focused on fraud and corruption, integrating outcomes into risk registers and mitigation plans</li>
<li>undertaking assurance projects that evaluate the effectiveness of fraud and corruption controls across the organisation</li>
<li>providing expert advice and strategic guidance to staff and leadership on managing fraud and corruption risks, controls, and industry best practice</li>
<li>developing and facilitating tailored training and awareness initiatives to foster a strong culture of integrity and ethical behaviour</li>
<li>overseeing investigations into suspected fraud or corruption, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure procedural fairness</li>
<li>preparing high-quality reports and briefings for executive leadership and governance committees, covering incidents, control effectiveness, and strategic insights</li>
<li>monitoring regulatory changes and sector trends, ensuring policies and controls remain current and effective</li>
<li>engaging with external agencies and professional networks to benchmark and strengthen SCS's fraud and corruption prevention strategies</li>
<li>contributing to enterprise-wide risk management efforts by embedding fraud and corruption considerations into the organisation's overall risk profile</li>
<li>any other duties as directed from time to time.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About You</strong><br><br>
To be successful in this position, you must possess:</p>
<ul>
<li>a relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, Law, or related field</li>
<li>a minimum of 8 years' experience in fraud and corruption risk management within a complex organisation</li>
<li>proven ability to design, implement, and review fraud and corruption control frameworks, including investigations and reporting</li>
<li>a strong understanding of risk management and its role in fraud prevention</li>
<li>demonstrated experience developing and delivering tailored professional learning programs</li>
<li>experience leading and/or supporting transformational change initiatives to enhance an organisation's positive risk appetite</li>
<li>experience working with regulatory requirements and best practice standards relevant to fraud management</li>
<li>a willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.</li>
</ul>
<p>Desirable:</p>
<ul>
<li>relevant professional certifications, e.g. Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Internal Auditor</li>
<li>a current drivers licence and access to a car</li>
<li>knowledge of Catholic Systemic Schools/Systems.</li>
