An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced High School Tech Studies Teacher to join the Willunga Waldorf School for the 2026 school year.

<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The High School Tech Studies Teacher will be responsible for implementing the specialist Tech curriculum across the classes they teach in the High School. Key duties will include teaching woodwork to the various year levels using a variety of tools and machinery, conducting age-appropriate safety inductions, risk management and mitigation, and servicing of relevant tools, machinery, and equipment. An overview of the Waldorf/Steiner curriculum is required (and will be provided if necessary), so one can see the complete picture and how one’s own subject is integrated into the whole.</p> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will be a team player with excellent communication skills, not only with young people but also with colleagues and parents. They possess a love of teaching, have a generally positive attitude and outlook, and are able to set boundaries with empathy and respect for students, colleagues, and the parent community.</p> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Suitable qualifications and experience in teaching woodwork and machine tech at a secondary level</li> <li>Demonstrated commitment to the pursuit of excellence in teaching young people</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children/young people, colleagues, and parents</li> <li>Demonstrated experience operating and servicing relevant machinery, tools, and equipment</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to develop, document and differentiate curriculum, catering for different learning needs and creating inclusive learning environments</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of work health safety requirements, risk assessment and management</li> <li>A commitment to the principle of ongoing teacher development both professionally and personally</li> <li>Ability to set boundaries with empathy and respect for students, colleagues, and the parent community</li> <li>An affinity with anthroposophy and overall strong commitment to Steiner Education (desirable)</li> <li>Must have full working rights in Australia</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Qualifications/Certificates</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum Bachelor of Education specialising in Technical Studies (including Woodwork and Metalwork), or comparable degree, diploma and /or certificates</li> <li>Eligibility for registration with the South Australian Teachers Registration Board</li> <li>Current South Australian ‘not-prohibit’ Working with Children Check</li> <li>Current RRHAN-EC training certificate</li> <li>Current Provide First Aid in an Education and Care setting certificate</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <p>Willunga Waldorf School offers an exciting, supportive and rewarding environment to work.
