<p><strong>Head of Junior School (Early Learning to Year 3)</strong></p> <p>Fixed Term (5 years)</p> <p>Full-time</p> <p>Commencing Term 1, 2026, or a mutually agreed date</p> <p>&nbsp;<br> The Geelong College is seeking an inspirational and dynamic Head of Junior School to lead our thriving Junior School community. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educational leader to shape the future of our youngest learners in a nurturing and forward-thinking environment, committed to the development of a holistic ‘one College’ culture.</p> <p>The Junior School is informed by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the incoming Head of Junior School must continue to support and drive this strong focus.</p> <p><br><strong>The Role</strong></p> <p>As Head of Junior School, you will lead a dedicated team of educators, oversee the day-to-day operations, and drive continued excellence in teaching and learning. You will play a key role in developing the strategic vision of the Junior School while ensuring alignment with the broader mission and values of The Geelong College.</p> <p>The incumbent will be a member of the College Executive Team and will be supported by the Deputy Head of Junior School and a Director of Early Learning, in addition to a strong network of professionals.</p> <p><br> &nbsp;<strong>Qualifications and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in a significant leadership position in an Early Learning and/or Junior School environment</li> <li>An understanding and&nbsp;appreciation of the Reggio Emilia approach to education</li> <li>A broad understanding of the development and educational needs of young children, adolescents and young adults</li> <li>The qualifications necessary to teach in the Junior School including eligibility to become registered through&nbsp;VIT (Victorian Institute of Teaching)</li> <li>Achievement of, or working to attain a post graduate qualification in&nbsp;Education or Leadership</li> <li>Evidence of Right to Work in Australia</li> <li>Current Victorian Institute of Teachers (VIT) registration or Working with Children Check</li> <li>Current First Aid (HLTAID 011), CPR (HTLAID 009) and asthma</li> <li>Completion of the College anaphylaxis or 22578VIC anaphylaxis qualification</li> </ul> <p><br> We request that applications are addressed to The Principal of The Geelong College, Mr Simon Young, and include:</p> <ul> <li>A resume</li> <li>A letter of introduction detailing how your skills and experiences would align to the position and to The Geelong College Community.</li> </ul> <p><br> Applications will be received until <strong>Monday 6 October 2025 - 5pm&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><i><strong>Please note:</strong></i>&nbsp;<i>applications will be considered upon receipt and interviews may commence prior to the closing date.</i></p> <p><i>We will continue to receive applications until the closing date or until successfully filled.&nbsp;</i></p>
