We are seeking an inspiring Mathematics Leader who will champion excellence in mathematics and play a pivotal role in shaping a whole-school approach to numeracy teaching and learning. The position is will be full time (0.8 by negotiation) and will attract a POL, commencing at the beginning of 2026.

Guided by the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools’ (MACS) <strong>Vision for Instruction</strong>, we aim to create a culture where every student flourishes beyond the classroom through rich, meaningful, and challenging learning experiences.</p> <p>We are seeking an inspiring <strong>Mathematics Leader</strong> who will champion excellence in mathematics and play a pivotal role in shaping a whole-school approach to numeracy teaching and learning. &nbsp;</p> <p>If you are passionate about mathematics education, committed to evidence-based practice, and eager to build teacher capacity in a collaborative community, we would love to hear from you.</p> <p>The position is full time (0.8 by negotiation) and will attract a POL, commencing at the beginning of 2026.</p> <p>What We’re Looking For:</p> <p>The successful applicant will:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate a strong passion for mathematics education and student learning.</li> <li>Be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.</li> <li>Lead the implementation of the <strong>MACS Flourishing Learners Vision for Instruction</strong> with a focus on mathematics.</li> <li>Actively contribute to a collaborative and professional learning culture.</li> <li>Hold a current VIT Registration.</li> <li>Be dedicated to ongoing professional growth and development.</li> </ul> <p>Key Selection Criteria:</p> <ul> <li>Proven ability to <strong>plan, sequence and lead a whole-school F–6 mathematics curriculum</strong> that is coherent, engaging, and aligned with curriculum standards.</li> <li>Evidence of successfully embedding <strong>current, evidence-based approaches</strong> in mathematics instruction to improve student learning outcomes.</li> <li>Demonstrated expertise in <strong>leading collaborative planning</strong>, building teacher knowledge, and modelling effective practices.</li> <li>Strong capacity to use <strong>data and evidence to drive improvement</strong>, plan targeted interventions, and measure student growth.</li> <li>Experience in supporting staff to <strong>differentiate learning</strong>, ensuring that all students are challenged and supported in their mathematical development.</li> <li>Highly developed<strong> interpersonal and communication skills</strong>, with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.</li> </ul> <p>Join our community where collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to excellence shape every learning experience.</p> <p><i>Candidates&nbsp;must&nbsp;have&nbsp;the&nbsp;right&nbsp;to&nbsp;live&nbsp;and&nbsp;work&nbsp;in&nbsp;Australia&nbsp;and&nbsp;be&nbsp;able&nbsp;to provide evidence of this.</i></p> <p>St Mary’s Primary School is committed to valuing the safety and individuality of every child.
