<p>This position is a Contract position but would consider ongoing for the right candidate.&nbsp;</p> <p>The main responsibilities of the position include:</p> <ul> <li>Providing opportunities for student engagement through a variety of learning experiences where they are encouraged and supported in achieving personal excellence;</li> <li>Providing students with positive role modelling as a committed Catholic educator;</li> <li>Supporting students with individual and group work in accordance with the work requirements outlined in the course of studies;</li> <li>Assisting the Key Learning Leaders in reviewing, designing and developing curriculum;</li> <li>Positively contributing to the St Bernard’s College teaching team;</li> <li>Participating in extra-curricular programs; and</li> <li>Other tasks as directed by the Key Learning Area Leader’s and Deputy Principal.</li> </ul> <p>The successful applicant will have a <strong>teaching qualification with current VIT registration and </strong>demonstrate the following competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching Japanese;</li> <li>Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to the Catholic philosophy and ethos of education;</li> <li>Understanding of the pastoral care needs of boys in a Catholic secondary school; and</li> <li>Experience within a Catholic educational organisation an advantage.</li> </ul> <p>Please visit the College website <a href="https://www.sbc.vic.edu.au/about-us/employment-opportunities" rel="nofollow">www.sbc.vic.edu.au/about-us/employment-opportunities</a> to &nbsp;complete the online application. &nbsp;A copy of the position description is available on the College website.</p> <p>Applications close <strong>4.00 pm Friday 22 September 2025</strong>.</p> <p><i>The College promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children and young people.</i></p>
