St Robert’s Catholic Primary School is a vibrant, faith-filled, and welcoming community committed to the safety, well-being and protection of all children in our care. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Diversity Leader to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the academic and personal growth of our diverse student population.
This is a fixed-term position for the 2026 school year. FTE 0.6 - Day allocation to be determined.
<p>We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Diversity Leader to join our team. ‘Learning diversity’ refers to the infinite variety of life experiences and attributes that learners bring with them to school. Their age, gender, religion, socioeconomic background, cultural background, physical and emotional attributes and cognitive abilities can all influence the way they learn. </p>
<p>The Learning Diversity Leader is a member of the Child Safety Team and the Student Support Team. This role attracts a Position of Leadership Allowance (POL 1).</p>
<p><strong>The Successful Applicant Will:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Support the identification of children who require additional learning support in collaboration with classroom teachers.</li>
<li>Support staff to develop and implement individualised learning, behaviour and safety plans for students with diverse needs.</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other specialists to ensure the appropriate support and adjustments are in place to bring student success.</li>
<li>Support the development of teacher knowledge around the creation of PLPs and Smart Goals.</li>
<li>Ensure that, where appropriate and feasible, allied health recommendations are incorporated into programs and plans developed by teachers for children.</li>
<li>Facilitate Program Support Group Meetings (PSGs) with families and allied health professionals to discuss learning adjustments, supports within the classroom space, goals and progress.</li>
<li>Support teachers to monitor student progress, analyse data, and adjust learning plans accordingly. </li>
<li>Contribute to the development and review of school policies and assist with the school's adherence to the MACS Medical Management Process.</li>
<li>Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in inclusive education.</li>
<li>Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will need to regularly collaborate with a range of stakeholders.</li>

<p><strong><u>Special Requirements:</u></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching</li>
<li>Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic Primary School is desirable</li>
<li>Committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this, and to ongoing evaluation of these practices</li>
<li>Flexibility to be available during Term Four for handover with the school's current Learning Diversity Leader.</li>

<p>The successful applicant will:</p>
<ol>
<li>Be faith-filled with a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social, and educational well-being of all students.</li>
<li>Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to continue building authentic relationships with students, colleagues, and families.</li>
<li>Have an in-depth knowledge of supportive, consistent, and respectful behaviour management practices that promote a positive learning environment and success for all students. Implement and model strategies that foster a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for all students.</li>
<li>Actively contribute as a member of the school leadership team, engaging in shared planning, professional dialogue, and reflective practice to support whole-school improvement.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based teaching practices, including Explicit Direct Instruction, and a commitment to supporting staff within a low-variance, knowledge-rich curriculum.</li>
<li>Use student learning and wellbeing data to identify strengths and needs, inform intervention and extension, contribute to data discussions with colleagues, and clearly communicate student progress and goals with families through interviews and conferences.</li>
<li>Demonstrate strong organisational skills by effectively managing time, resources, and priorities to support diverse learners, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure timely communication with colleagues, families, and external professionals.</li>
