Waverley College invites applications for the Head of Rugby. This position is a 3 year contract with the potential for permanency, to start as soon as possible. The Head of Rugby is the driving force providing a quality, innovative and visionary Rugby program leading the planning, preparation, development and leadership of coaches and our teams.

The Head of Rugby is the driving force providing a quality, innovative and visionary Rugby program leading the planning, preparation, development and leadership of coaches and our teams. The person is accountable for fostering a high performance culture, mentoring and role modelling positive relationships and sportsmanship of our players from years 5 to 12</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop an all-year round Rugby Academy ensuring the necessary resources, funding, facilities / equipment are available to support player and coach development and operate in a high performance environment.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards, including those set by the Combined Associated Schools (CAS) and other governing bodies.</li>
<li>Analyse data on the Academy’s performance, including player statistics, game results and metrics to inform program decisions and identify areas for improvement</li>
<li>Recommend and manage tours</li>
<li>Recruit, train and evaluate performance of coaches.</li>
<li>Conduct regular sessions to ensure alignment of coaches with Academy goals</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential criteria</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Level 2 or above Coach Accreditation.</li>
<li>Experience coaching high level Rugby with success in player and coach development. </li>
<li>Experience managing a large Rugby program including budget management, staff / coach development and program development. </li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including students, staff, parents, Old Boys and external partners. </li>
<li>An understanding of CAS sports or experience in a similar school association.</li>
<li>Valid NSW Working with Children Check and First Aid and CPR accreditation.</li>
</ul>
