We are seeking a permanent, full-time Science Teacher to teach Junior Science and Chemistry up to HSC level. This role will be commencing in Term 1 2026.

This role will be commencing in Term 1 2026. &nbsp;</p> <p>At Ascham, teachers are responsible for the intellectual development and wellbeing of their students. Teachers deliver excellence in developing and delivering academic programs through the Dalton Plan, administration of student assessment and results, marking and record keeping. Teachers also have a form class where they monitor the wellbeing of their students and deliver the wellbeing program. All teachers contribute to the activities of their department and the School as a whole.  &nbsp;</p> <p>The successful candidate will join a diverse team of accomplished and experienced Science teachers in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and STEM. The atmosphere in the Science department is one of many informal collaborations, where strong subject knowledge is valued.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Will Do&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Write, implement and evaluate teaching programs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Actively participate in the planning of curriculum, writing of programs and resources.&nbsp;</li> <li>Use formative and summative assessments to determine student progress&nbsp;</li> <li>Submit marking, reports and results in a timely manner and meets deadlines&nbsp;</li> <li>Mark work for students within one week of submission&nbsp;</li> <li>Monitor and report on the progress of all students&nbsp;</li> <li>Perform other duties as required.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Will Bring&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>A tertiary qualification in Chemistry and accreditation with NESA&nbsp;</li> <li>Proven ability to teach, lead, and achieve exceptional academic results in Stage 6 Chemistry&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong differentiation skills in the delivery of curriculum, as well as flexible, innovative and collegial approach&nbsp;</li> <li>Excellent communication and writing skills, with strong attention to detail&nbsp;</li> <li>Excellent ICT skills and a willingness to develop ICT skills within an environment where students bring a personal device to school&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to follow instructions, work unsupervised and be a cooperative team member&nbsp;</li> <li>Understanding of and commitment to WHS legislation and risk management principles&nbsp;</li> <li>A valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Interested?</strong></p> <p>Further information, including a position description for this role is available at <a href="https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham" rel="nofollow"><u>https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham</u></a>&nbsp;</p> <p>If this sounds like you, please <strong>apply via </strong><a href="https://www.seek.com.au/job/86967570?ref=cm-ui" rel="nofollow"><strong>SEEK</strong></a> no later than <strong>11.59pm on Thursday 18 September 2025</strong>.
