We are the first school in Australia to be named in the honour of St Padre Pio. As a result we feel passionately about sharing and learning about the language and the cultural life of Padre Pio. We are seeking an Italian LOTE teacher who will embrace this opportunity to celebrate St Padre Pio through language and culture, as a key element during our foundation years.

<p><strong>Italian LOTE Teacher (0.4 FTE)</strong><br><i>St Padre Pio Catholic Primary School - Opening 2026!</i></p> <p>St Padre Pio Catholic Primary School is seeking a passionate and dedicated <strong>Italian LOTE Teacher (0.4 FTE)</strong> to join our vibrant school community. Starting date for the role will be the 27/1/2026.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong><br> We are looking for a teacher who can inspire a love of language learning and culture in our students. The successful applicant will deliver engaging and effective Italian language and cultural programs across year levels, while supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the school. Our specialist program will most likely run across Tuesday / Wednesday or Wednesday / Thursday in our foundation year.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Plan and implement engaging Italian language lessons in line with the Victorian Curriculum.</li> <li>Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.</li> <li>Use a range of teaching strategies to cater for diverse learning needs.</li> <li>Collaborate with staff to promote language and cultural learning across the school.</li> <li>Actively contribute to the life of our school community.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Current VIT registration.</li> <li>Qualifications in Italian/LOTE teaching.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum.</li> <li>Effective communication and classroom management skills.</li> <li>Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.</li> </ul> <p><strong>We Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>A welcoming and supportive school community.</li> <li>Opportunities for professional growth.</li> <li>A chance to inspire students through language and cultural learning.</li> </ul> <p><i>*There may be an opportunity for applicants to extend their role if required and desired (eg. intervention, classroom support, ongoing CRT work).
