<p><i><strong>About the Role</strong></i></p>
<p>We are seeking a passionate and qualified <strong>Japanese language teacher</strong> to join our dynamic and collaborative teaching team for a <strong>12-month maternity leave replacement</strong>. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching <strong>Stage 4 Japanese</strong> and a strong commitment to fostering language acquisition and cultural understanding in students.</p>
<p>This role is part of a supportive faculty that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. We are looking for someone who:</p>
<ul>
<li>Has experience <strong>differentiating instruction</strong> for both <strong>single-sex classes</strong> (boys and girls) and <strong>mixed-ability groups</strong>.</li>
<li>Is confident in delivering engaging and effective <strong>Stage 4 Japanese lessons</strong>, with a focus on building foundational language skills.</li>
<li>Can integrate <strong>technology</strong> to enhance student engagement and support interactive language learning.</li>
<li>Is willing to contribute to <strong>faculty discussions</strong>, curriculum development, and <strong>extra-curricular programs</strong> such as language clubs, cultural events, or competitions.</li>
<li>Possesses <strong>strong communication skills</strong>, including proficiency in email and a willingness to develop expertise in the <strong>Google Suite</strong>.</li>
<li>Demonstrates <strong>excellent organisational skills</strong> and a proactive approach to teaching and learning.</li>
</ul>
<p>This is a <strong>temporary part-time position (2 or 3 days)</strong> commencing in <strong>Term 1, 2026</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Deliver engaging and effective <strong>Stage 4 Japanese lessons</strong>, focusing on foundational language skills and cultural understanding.</li>
<li>Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.</li>
<li>Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support language development.</li>
<li>Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to a cohesive and innovative language faculty.</li>
<li>Participate in professional development to enhance teaching practice and stay current with language education strategies.</li>
<li>Support extra-curricular activities related to Japanese language and culture, such as language clubs or cultural events.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>

<li>Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in teaching Japanese.</li>
<li>Passion for teaching and commitment to student success.</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li>
<li>Familiarity with NSW Curriculum and Assessment framework.</li>
