<p>St James Lutheran College is seeking an experienced and future-focused <strong>Business Manager</strong> to join our Executive Leadership Team.</p> <p>Reporting directly to the Principal and College Council, the Business Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the effective operation of the College's financial, administrative and operational functions.</p> <p>This role provides executive oversight of finance, property, ICT, compliance, human resources, and administration, with a strong focus on strategic financial planning, risk management, and operational sustainability. The Business Manager acts as a key adviser to the Principal and Council, contributing to long-term planning and ensuring the College continues to thrive as a Christ-centred learning community.</p> <p>The successful candidate will lead and support staff across business services and provide high-level expertise in areas including financial stewardship, compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and the management of capital works and resources.</p> <p><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential</strong></p> <ul> <li>Tertiary qualification in Business, Accounting, Commerce or related field</li> <li>Membership of a recognised accounting body (CA/CPA or equivalent)</li> <li>Demonstrated senior leadership experience in finance, operations, or administration</li> <li>Strong financial management expertise including budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and reporting for organisations with $10M+ annual turnover</li> <li>Knowledge of HR, WHS, and risk management frameworks</li> <li>Proven ability to lead teams and build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders</li> <li>Current Blue Card (or eligibility to obtain prior to commencement)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in the education or not-for-profit sector</li> <li>Familiarity with TASS (The Alpha School System) or similar school-based systems</li> <li>Qualifications or experience in leadership, governance or organisational management</li> </ul> <p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Full time, 5-year contract (renewable)</li> <li>Salary and conditions in accordance with <strong>L</strong>EQ Business Managers Salaries and Conditions</li> <li>Access to professional development, leave entitlements, and executive leadership benefits</li> </ul> <p><strong>About St James Lutheran College</strong></p> <p>St James Lutheran College is a dynamic Kindergarten to Year 12 school with over 750 students and a thriving Kindergarten of 44 children.
