What is the Role?
The School is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, experienced secondary school educator to join our committed and professional staff as the Head of Department, Christian Development. This is a full-time, permanent position, commencing Term 4, 2025.
Flexibility to start Term 1 2026 for a suitable candidate.
<p><strong>Who will the successful applicant be?</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experienced, with recent engagement, as a secondary school educator in teaching Christian Development Years 7-12 and Stage 6 Studies of Religion</li>
<li>Theologically qualified at a Diploma level or higher</li>
<li>Enthusiastic about their subject and the ability to inspire secondary age students</li>
<li>Flexible in working with a range of student abilities</li>
<li>Knowledgeable of recent developments in the theory and practice of senior secondary pedagogy and specifically how this applies to their subject area</li>
<li>Experienced in leadership in curriculum development and implementation of new syllabuses</li>
<li>Highly developed in communication and collaboration skills</li>
<li>Outstanding in interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the Christian Development/Chaplaincy team</li>
<li>Confident in the use of technology and a willingness to embrace it to enhance learning in the classroom</li>
<li>Understanding of and having a commitment to the School’s Christian mission, values, and ethos</li>
</ul>
<p>Previous experience teaching International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) is highly desirable.</p>
