<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>We invite applications from an inspiring and dynamic English, Humanities and Literacy teacher to join our Middle School team. We are seeking an educator who is both innovative and creative, with the ability to ignite curiosity and guide students on their journey of knowledge, critical thinking, and self-advocacy.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching English, Humanities, and Literacy within a Middle Years context that values rich, cross-disciplinary learning connections. We are looking for a skilled practitioner who can design engaging, inclusive lessons and foster a genuine love of language, literature, and the humanities.</p>

<p>These positions are offered as a fixed-term contract for one year, commencing 1 January 2026, with opportunities available for both full-time and part-time roles.<br>

<p><strong>Key Focus Areas</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Actively participate in planning, evaluating and developing programs for English, Humanities and Literacy that are in keeping with the Australian Curriculum and programs and syllabus guidelines at The Friends' School.</li>
<li>Support the pastoral care and wellbeing of all students, demonstrating ethical and professional standards.</li>
<li>Contribute to co-curricular programs, supervisory duties, and School events.</li>
<li>Work positively and collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider community.</li>
<li>Uphold School policies, expectations, and the Quaker ethos in all teaching and interactions.</li>
<li>Participate in professional learning aligned with the School’s Improvement Plan and strategic goals.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with child safeguarding and mandatory reporting requirements.</li>

<p><strong>Essential Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Appropriate tertiary qualifications in education and <strong>teaching registration</strong> in Tasmania (or eligibility to obtain).</li>
<li>Current <strong>Working with Vulnerable People Registration</strong> (employment category) and a recent <strong>National Police Check</strong>.</li>
