This new position reflects our school’s continued growth in enrolments and provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the next stage of our journey.</p> <p>The Deputy Principal will play a vital leadership role in promoting the mission and vision of our Catholic Primary School, grounded in Gospel values and Catholic tradition. As a key member of the School Leadership Team, the Deputy Principal will work in close partnership with the Principal to lead a dynamic learning community committed to excellence in faith development, learning and teaching,&nbsp; student wellbeing and community engagement.</p> <p>This Deputy Principal position will be paired with an additional leadership portfolio, to be determined in alignment with the successful applicant’s strengths and expertise. This role may, at times, include a small teaching component.</p> <p>This position is a three year fixed term position (underpinned by an ongoing teaching position), with a second period of appointment.&nbsp;</p> <p>St Brigid’s is a child-safe organisation and regards the safety of all children as paramount to our core beliefs.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><i>Spiritual and Faith Leadership</i></p> <ul> <li>Actively support and model the Catholic ethos and mission of the school</li> <li>Demonstrate capacity to lead staff through formation, witness and action, to enhance the Catholic identity of the school</li> <li>Demonstrate personal faith commitment</li> <li>Collaborate with the Principal, Religious Education Leader and Parish Priest to support liturgical celebrations and events<br> &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><i>Educational Leadership</i></p> <ul> <li>Promote a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement and evidence-based practice</li> <li>Actively collaborate with the leadership team in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the school’s curriculum and assessment practices</li> <li>Foster innovative and effective learning &amp; teaching practices aligned with current educational research and Catholic Education priorities</li> <li>Lead professional learning and enhance teacher capacity<br> &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><i>Staff Leadership and Development</i></p> <ul> <li>Mentor and support staff in their professional and spiritual growth</li> <li>Contribute to staff performance development, goal-setting and feedback processes</li> <li> <p>Assist in the induction and support of new staff</p> <p>&nbsp;</p></li> </ul> <p><i>Student Wellbeing and Engagement</i></p> <ul> <li>Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment for all students</li> <li>Lead the development and implementation of student wellbeing initiatives</li> <li>Support pastoral care practices that align with Catholic values and restorative principles<br> &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><i>Organisational and Strategic Leadership</i></p> <ul> <li>Assist in the daily operational management of the school, including staffing, timetabling, supervision and emergency procedures</li> <li>Contribute to the development of the Strategic Improvement Plan, policy development and implementation</li> <li>Represent the school in professional networks and community forums</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Leadership Portfolio:</strong></p> <p>In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the Deputy Principal will undertake an additional leadership portfolio, negotiated based on the successful candidate’s experience, expertise and passions.
