St Paul’s College is looking for a Social Worker/Counsellor to provide assessment, counselling, psychoeducation, case management and support to students and families of all year levels who will understand and role model protective practices and safeguarding.

<p>Are you a professional social worker or counsellor who wants to be part of an innovative team supporting student wellbeing?&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p> <p>We are seeking a replacement Social Worker/Counsellor to work within the Counselling Services Team and alongside Wellbeing teams across the college, Reception to Year 12, delivering professional and high-quality assessment, counselling, psychoeducation, case management and support to students and families of all year levels. This opportunity requires a professional able to understand and role model protective practices and safeguarding.&nbsp;</p> <p>This replacement position (covering for a period of leave) will commence ASAP or by negotiation, and finalise at the start of the school year in 2027. The hours of this role are 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) over 45 weeks&nbsp;per year, during the school year.</p> <p>The Counselling Services Team consists of four staff who work closely with students to identify, address and prioritise wellbeing across the college.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About You</strong><br> You are compassionate with a knack for juggling a full plate, flexible, adaptable, have a calm head and collected presence in sessions, and a heart that beats for making a real impact. You enjoy being part of a team! Above all, you have a passion for meaningfully contribution for the benefit of student success, development, and wellbeing of young people, via:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in trauma-based practice and support</li> <li>A demonstrated ability to collaborate in a dynamic and flexible environments</li> <li>Possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills in developing positive and collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader community</li> <li>Demonstrate pastoral care of all students and support them in developing personal responsibility</li> <li>Understanding of the policies and procedures that guide the effective management of critical incidents in school communities</li> <li>Experience of relationships with external agencies supporting the wellbeing of young people</li> <li>Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision within a team environment</li> <li>Actively support and contribute to St Paul’s College, as a Catholic College in the Edmund Rice Tradition, embodied within the College’s values of Faith, Relationships, Excellence and Diversity</li> </ul> <p><strong>About Us</strong></p> <p>St Paul’s College is a thriving co-educational R-12 Catholic College in the Edmund Rice tradition.
