St Mary’s Catholic Primary School Darwin is seeking a full-time Classroom Teacher to join our dedicated team in 2026. Teachers at St Mary’s apply their professional knowledge and skills to ensure that students receive a <strong>high-quality Catholic education</strong> grounded in faith and excellence.</p> <p>Their role is to provide education for students in Catholic schools through:</p> <ul> <li>The development, delivery and evaluation of teaching and learning programs</li> <li>Monitoring student achievement to address individual learning needs</li> <li>Contributing to the achievement of the school’s mission</li> </ul> <p>The teacher will liaise and coordinate activities within their teaching area and across the wider school community.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Engage in and support the sacramental, liturgical, ritual and prayer life of the school.</li> <li>Plan, prepare and explicitly deliver quality and effective teaching and learning programs which are consistent with the <strong>Australian Professional Standards for Teachers</strong> and relevant curriculum policies, ensuring that the teachings, values and practices of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.</li> <li>Support students through positive interactions, the development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.</li> <li>Provide for the physical, social, cultural and emotional well-being and safety of students in your care at all times.</li> <li>Maintain student records and work samples; report on student performance to students, parents, the department and other stakeholders as required.</li> <li>Cultivate and nurture harmonious learning and work environments.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with colleagues and commit to professional growth and ongoing skill development.</li> <li>Establish and maintain strong relationships between the school, parents and the wider community.</li> <li>Actively participate in innovation and continuous improvement within the school and Catholic education.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Our Vision</strong></p> <p>St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is a Christ-centred community aspiring for excellence in learning and teaching.
