<p><strong>PEDAGOGY COACH (7-12) - Creative and Performing Arts&nbsp; - Starts Term 4 2025</strong></p> <p><strong>This role attracts a 2-point paid allowance with a mix of teaching, coaching and release.</strong></p> <p><strong>Additional release time is provided to work side by side with teachers on their professional practice.</strong></p> <p><strong>A focus on CAPA: suits a coordinator wanting to focus on the development of teacher practice not just compliance&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>The College Community&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Having commenced in 2017 with 86 students across Kindergarten to Year 6, St Luke’s at Marsden Park is a next generation learning community within the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD). As a ‘next generation Catholic Learning Community’ we are designing and establishing the ‘new normal’ for preschool to post school learning in an environment characterised by a flexible, stage based curriculum which nurtures and grows faith-filled, curious children to become creative contributors and innovative problem solvers for a changing world. In 2025 we have enrolled 1800+ students from Kindergarten to Year 12 in addition to 77 children per day in our long day centre.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Role Outline - More detail at&nbsp;</strong><a href="https://youtu.be/IOXJH2D4bfk" rel="nofollow"><strong><u>https://youtu.be/IOXJH2D4bfk</u></strong></a></p> <p>Ultimately responsible to the Principal Leader, a team of pedagogy coaches is accountable to Assistant Principals for co-leading the learning priorities across the Schools of Leadership and Entrepreneurship. With the skills to lead teachers to transform practice, pedagogy coaches model effective high yield strategies which enable and support each student's engagement with learning outcomes and the St Luke’s 6 Pillars of Learning. This is achieved through a commitment and dedication of the Pedagogy Coach in co-planning, co-teaching, co-debriefing and co-reflecting with teachers as individuals and in both small and large groups. The Pedagogy Coach:</p> <ul> <li>collaboratively leads, mentors and coaches teachers to design flexible curriculum and contemporary pedagogies;&nbsp;</li> <li>takes responsibility to enhance learning outcomes which enhance the social skills and enterprise skills required for a changing world; and,</li> <li>builds teacher capacity to:</li> <li>provide relevant and authentic student centred learning;</li> <li>Improve student learning through focussed, in-situ teacher professional learning;</li> <li>effectively use data to facilitate learning which meets each student at their point of challenge; and,</li> <li>ensure alignment with the School Vision.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements of the Role</strong>&nbsp;The pedagogy coach will:</p> <ul> <li>Support the Principal in the ministry of leadership, reflecting the mission of the Church by modelling respectful relationships with colleagues, students and families.</li> <li>Use research and data to think and plan strategically.</li> <li>Maintain a relational approach to team building through collaboration and critical thinking.</li> <li>Foster an innovative teacher mindset which supports student-centred learning.</li> <li>Model highly accomplished teaching using contemporary pedagogy and flexible curriculum design.</li> <li>Possess high level communication skills and interpersonal skills including empathy and confidentiality.</li> <li>Undertake professional learning as a connected educator who contributes to system learning in a global world.&nbsp;</li> <li>Support teachers in the use of digital technology to enhance learning.&nbsp;</li> <li>Contribute to a culture which enables imagination, creativity and innovation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Functions of the Role</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead, mentor and coach teachers, both ‘in situ’ and during professional learning meetings to provide experiential inquiry learning experiences where students exercise choice to demonstrate knowledge and understanding.</li> <li>Initiate and engage in professional discussions with colleagues in a range of forums to evaluate practice to improve educational outcomes of students.</li> <li>Establish, develop and implement effective high yield pedagogical strategies.</li> <li>Lead professional learning dialogue by facilitating opportunities for teams of teachers to meet, plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate learning.</li> <li>Support the Principal and other senior leaders to ensure programming, assessment and reporting documentation for Year 7-12 is compliant and adheres to Diocesan and NESA requirements.</li> <li>Other duties as directed by the Principal.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Please note</strong></p> <p>Due to the fact that we live in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world, the nature, priorities and placement of this role, in consultation with the person serving in the role, may change over time.</p> <p><strong>Further note</strong></p> <p>As a guide, the successful applicant could be expected to uphold the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers at either the Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher level.
