An award-winning school, Hills Grammar has been recognised as a The Educator 5-Star Employer for the past two years, reflecting its deep commitment to staff wellbeing, culture and professional growth.</p> <p>As a key member of the Executive, the Director of Business Services and Operations will work closely with the Head of School to oversee the financial, operational and commercial aspects of the School. The role will shape and implement strategic initiatives, support business sustainability and enable the next phase of development including the 10-year Master Plan and forthcoming Strategic Plan (2026–2028).</p> <p>Reporting to the Principal for strategic and operational leadership.</p> <p>The Director leads the School’s financial strategy, budget and risk management, oversees infrastructure, capital projects and compliance, and ensures the effective delivery of all operational services. A collaborative and solutions-oriented approach will underpin all stakeholder engagement and service delivery.</p> <p>The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:</p> <ul> <li>apply strategic and commercial acumen to develop sustainable business models, assess risk, and deliver evidence-informed insights that support whole-school planning and decision making</li> <li>lead complex financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, compliance, government funding, and reporting within a highly regulated educational context</li> <li>oversee school infrastructure, property and operational services with a focus on risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence</li> <li>manage capital works and master planning projects from concept to completion, ensuring strategic alignment, financial accountability, and legislative compliance</li> <li>lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and service excellence across all business and operational units</li> <li>build and sustain strong, trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including the Principal, Council, families, and external partners through clear, timely and strategic communication.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Offered as a full-time, ongoing Executive appointment with a January 2026 commencement, applicants must have a right to work in Australia and relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or business.</p> <p>The Hills Grammar School staff comply with the School’s child safe policies and related procedures, upholding the principles and values set out in legislative frameworks and regulations, and always conducting themselves in accordance with the commitment to take all reasonable steps to promote the safety of children.
