The Education Officer – EAL/D and Bilingual Education is responsible for the provision of professional learning and high level support in general curriculum planning, programming, teaching assessment and reporting for educators in Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools, regional and urban schools.

Catholic Education has a network of 18 schools in the Northern Territory - five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre&nbsp;and&nbsp;five remote schools and Early Learning Centres.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The Role:</strong></p> <p>The Education Officer – EAL/D and Bilingual Education is responsible for the provision of professional learning and high level support in general curriculum planning, programming, teaching assessment and reporting for educators in Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools, regional and urban schools.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p>The Education Officer – EAL/D &amp; Bilingual Education will:</p> <ul> <li>Assist school principals, teachers and support staff of Aboriginal Catholic Community Schools, regional and urban primary and secondary schools to develop appropriate pedagogical skills for teachers of EAL/D students by providing professional learning opportunities that respond to the needs of school/student and system requirements.</li> <li>Provide professional development and support in planning, teaching and assessing against the NT EAL/D Learning Progressions through team teaching, collaborative planning, and formal and informal professional development.</li> <li>Develop the capacity of both classroom teachers of L1 and L2 (SAE) in the use of first language to support English language acquisition.</li> <li>Provide professional support for teachers in aligning planning, programming and assessing to the Australian Curriculum and SACE curriculums.</li> <li>Support classroom teachers and support staff in schools to interpret and respond to student data to improve language, literacy and learning outcomes across the curriculum.</li> <li>Support bilingual education as appropriate to the school's approved bilingual program (or in some cases support in developing a bilingual program model) and in line with the NT Indigenous Language and Cultures Curriculums.<br> &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>Pedagogical experience in EAL/D - language and Literacy acquisition.</li> <li>Willingness to support the culture and Catholic ethos of the CEO.</li> <li>Demonstrated high level organisational, analytical and conceptual skills.</li> <li>Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Islander staff and students in schools.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work in leadership and supportive roles and as an active team member.</li> <li>Capacity to successfully develop and deliver professional learning opportunities in EAL/D pedagogies for teachers of EAL/D learners.</li> <li><strong>Full details are outlined in the position description within the Information Pack.</strong></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What we Offer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive Salary</li> <li>Salary Sacrificing up to $15,900</li> <li>Relocation Assistance up to $ 2,000.00</li> <li>Funded Professional Development</li> <li>Excellent Work Life Balance – Working hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM</li> <li>Staff rewards program with savings and discounts at over 450 well-known retailers</li> <li>Employee Assistance Program</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This position will involve working with children.
