This is a part-time position, working 12 hours per week, days and times to be negotiated.</p>
<p><strong>About the role</strong></p>
<p>The Director of Voice leads the vocal/choral program across both the Junior and Secondary Schools, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity and collaboration. This leadership role involves conducting choirs, mentoring staff, and supporting the broader goals of the Music and Performing Arts departments through the delivery of a vibrant co-curricular music program.</p>

<p><strong>About you</strong></p>
<p>You will bring extensive experience in vocal music education and leadership, with a passion for developing student talent and delivering high-quality choral programs. Your strong communication and collaboration skills will enable you to work effectively with students, staff, and the broader school community.</p>
<p>You will lead and support a range of vocal ensembles across the Junior and Secondary Schools, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive choral culture aligned with the College’s educational values. A commitment to professionalism and creativity is essential, along with the ability to manage rehearsals, performances, and events with precision and care.</p>
<p>You will demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills, and be equally confident working independently or as part of the wider Performing Arts team. As a motivating and approachable leader, you enjoy fostering positive relationships and inspiring students to reach their full potential through music.</p>
<p><strong>Candidates must:</strong></p>

<li>Demonstrate strong organisational and planning skills, with attention to detail in managing rehearsals, performances, and vocal programs</li>
<li>Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be confident engaging with students, colleagues, and the wider College community</li>
<li>Be proficient in the MS Office suite and willing to learn relevant school systems to support the administration of the vocal program</li>
<li>Show a passion for collaborative work within a high-performing Performing Arts team, and be adaptable to the evolving needs of the program</li>
<li>Be energetic, enthusiastic, and committed to ongoing professional growth through the sharing of best practice and musical expertise</li>
<li>Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare at all times</li>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Proven experience in leading vocal and/or choral programs, ideally within an educational or youth performance setting</li>
<li>Strong musical expertise with the ability to conduct choirs and mentor vocal ensembles across a range of ages and skill levels</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn school management and music administration systems</li>
<li>Membership of, or eligibility for membership with, relevant professional associations (e.g. ANCA) is desirable</li>
<li>A solid understanding of music education within the context of independent schools is highly regarded</li>
</ul>
