An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Soft Craft Assistant to join our school in Semester Two 2025.

<p><strong>About the&nbsp;Role</strong></p> <p>The Soft Craft Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the school's educational philosophy and creative vision, contributing to the development of students' artistic, practical, and imaginative skills. While the Class Teacher is present throughout the lesson, the Craft Assistant facilitates developmentally appropriate craft projects relevant to the Steiner curriculum.</p> <p><i>Please see the full position description for more details.</i></p> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will be an experienced crafter with a genuine interest in and a warm approach to assisting children in a Waldorf classroom setting. You will be a committed, imaginative, and patient co-educator who possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in close collaboration with classroom teachers. With your generally positive outlook and attitude, you are willing and able to find ways to meet and support each child where they are.</p> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated soft craft skills (knitting, crocheting, sewing, wet felting, embroidery, etc.)</li> <li>Understanding of the Steiner craft curriculum</li> <li>Experience working with children</li> <li>Ability to work with individuals as well as small groups of children of different ages and in a range of classes</li> <li>Excellent time management skills</li> <li>Experience working with neurodiverse children and students with additional needs</li> <li>Must have full working rights in Australia</li> </ul> <p>Applicants must hold a current “not-prohibited” SA Working with Children Check and be willing to obtain RRHAN-EC and provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting training.</p>
