<p>Located in Box Hill, Our Lady of Sion College is a thriving Catholic secondary school for girls committed to faith, learning and community. With a legacy shaped by the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion since 1928, the College promotes Biblical values of peace and love through an inclusive educational experience. Now under the governance of Mercy Partners, Our Lady of Sion College is poised for a new era, embracing its mission to nurture each young woman with courage, compassion and curiosity in a diverse and dynamic learning environment.</p> <p><br> The Principal reports to the Our Lady of Sion College Board for the spiritual, educational and operational leadership of the College.</p> <p><br> The Principal provides strategic, faith-filled leadership that upholds the Sionian charism and drives excellence across all aspects of College life. As CEO of the College, the Principal ensures that Biblical values underpin the culture, learning, wellbeing and operations. Working in partnership with the Board, staff, families and the broader community, the Principal leads a contemporary educational vision that champions girls' education, innovation and authentic belonging.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><i><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></i></p> <p>The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Commitment to Catholic faith and the Sionian charism, fostering an inclusive, spiritually rich culture grounded in Biblical values and respectful interfaith dialogue.</li> <li>Instructional leadership that promotes academic excellence, personalised learning and student wellbeing within a dynamic and inclusive curriculum.</li> <li>Strategic capability to lead innovation and evidence-based improvement aligned with contemporary research and the College’s values and goals.</li> <li>Dedication to personal and professional growth and the professional development of staff through reflective practice, coaching and capacity-building.</li> <li>Operational and financial acumen in managing resources, compliance, infrastructure and governance to ensure sustainability and mission-aligned excellence.</li> <li>Relational leadership that cultivates strong partnerships and transparent communication with students, staff, families, past students and the broader community.</li> <li>Capacity to support strong governance through strategic advice, policy implementation and regulatory compliance in alignment with Mercy Partners’ expectations and legal obligations.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Qualifications and Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Active and ongoing participation in a Catholic Eucharistic community is essential.&nbsp;</li> <li>Eligible to work in Australia; registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (or eligibility to obtain); accreditation to teach Religious Education or lead in a Catholic school (or eligibility to obtain)</li> <li>Recognised and current qualifications in Education and Theology or Spirituality, preferably at the Masters or Doctoral level.</li> <li>Proven leadership experience, preferably in a Catholic education ministry</li> </ul> <p><strong>Remuneration and contract period</strong></p> <p>A remuneration package reflecting the responsibilities of the role and the experience of the successful candidate will be negotiated. The successful applicant will be appointed on a five-year contract, commencing in January 2026 or as negotiated.
