With a strong focus on pastoral care and wellbeing, we are committed to supporting the holistic development of every child in our care.</p> <p>We are looking for compassionate and highly skilled School Psychologists&nbsp;to&nbsp;work with our students who have highly complex needs.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p>Mental health intake and assessment.&nbsp;</p> <p>Counselling, intervention&nbsp;and case management.</p> <p>Psychological assessments and written reports.</p> <p>Develop individual support plans, including assessment of risk and safety planning.</p> <p>Crisis management.</p> <p>Support our young people with mental health issues, learning difficulties and disabilities to engage in their education.</p> <p>Support staff within Ohana College with advice and resources.&nbsp;</p> <p>Develop and manage an assessment and referral process for students to access support from other professional services.</p> <p>Support program facilitation.</p> <p>Liaise with students parents/carers, support staff and any other external services to provide a holistic&nbsp;service.</p> <p>Collaborate&nbsp;with management when dealing with situations involving child protection and welfare.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key skills and experience (Selection Criteria)</strong></p> <p>Tertiary degree in Psychology (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution.</p> <p>Excellent working knowledge of the NCCD and EAP process relevant in an Independent school setting.</p> <p>Previous experience in Case Management and working with young people at risk &nbsp;in a school setting.</p> <p>Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.</p> <p>Clear working&nbsp;understanding of child protection issues.</p> <p>Sound knowledge of the principals of mandatory reporting obligations, data collection and program evaluation, with demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.</p> <p>High-level written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively &nbsp;communicate with young people. Ability to act calmly and sensitively with people who are distressed and can have demanding and unpredictable behaviours.</p> <p>Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the personal barriers impacting on school participation and behaviour.</p> <p>Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the barriers disadvantaged and marginalised young people face when at risk of disengaging from school and education.</p> <p>Demonstrated understanding of the social, cultural, economic, and educational needs and experience working with culturally diverse families.</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to adhere to professional boundaries and confidentiality.</p> <p>Ability to self manage, work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Qualifications (Mandatory)</strong></p> <p>Relevant Bachelor/Masters Degree.</p> <p>Membership of a Professional Body&nbsp;</p> <p>Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Registration (AHPRA)</p> <p>Current QLD Drivers Licence&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong><br> At Ohana College, we value our team.
