The Science teacher is responsible for delivering effective, engaging, and evidence-based instruction within the Science Key Learning Area. This includes fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry across junior and senior levels. Teachers are expected to support the College ethos, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to student wellbeing and academic success.

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Teaching and Learning</li> <li>Deliver lessons in line with the IB and NESA curriculum.</li> <li>Plan, assess, and report on student progress in accordance with College guidelines.</li> <li>Conduct practical investigations safely and effectively.</li> <li>Differentiate learning to meet individual student needs.</li> <li>Integrate digital technologies to enhance learning.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Curriculum and Assessment</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and evaluate teaching programs using relevant data.</li> <li>Develop learning materials that reflect current scientific understanding.</li> <li>Support students in internal and external science assessments.</li> <li>Professional Engagement</li> <li>Engage in professional development and College-based training.</li> <li>Collaborate with Science department staff and across faculties.</li> <li>Maintain teaching accreditation and meet NESA/IB standards.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Pastoral/Co-curricular&nbsp;&amp; Islamic ethos</strong></p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the wellbeing and support of all students.</li> <li>Participate in College co-curricular and community events.</li> <li>Promote student participation in activities and competitions.</li> <li>Contribute to Islamic events and planning</li> <li>Abide by the schools Islamic ethos including dress code and respect</li> <li>Attend school Islamic events that are implemented in the school calendar</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential</strong></p> <ul> <li>NESA-accredited teacher with teaching experience.</li> <li>Strong understanding of IB/NESA curriculum and pedagogy.</li> <li>Demonstrated classroom management and communication skills.</li> <li>Commitment to Islamic values and the College’s mission.</li> <li>Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching in IB World Schools.</li> <li>Familiarity with inquiry-based and STEM learning.</li> <li>Postgraduate qualifications in education or science.</li> <li>Information for applicants&nbsp;</li> </ul>
