We are seeking a Learning Support Officer who will support our students and add to the positive culture of our school. The position has an FTE of 0.8 spread over five days a week or negotiated with the suitable candidate.

The position has an FTE of 0.8 spread over five days a week or negotiated with the suitable candidate.</i></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Year Level/Subject: Primary</strong></p> <p>Galilee Regional Catholic Primary School is a warm and friendly community. We have a diverse group of students and a vibrant staff who are passionate and enthusiastic about teaching and learning. At Galilee, we believe everyone is a learner and everyone can learn. We believe that all students can learn with the right support in place. Our Learning Support Officer staff are required to have a positive approach to learning and teaching and a belief that all students can learn. Learning Support Officer staff need to be able to demonstrate a high level of flexibility and adaptability to adjust to the changing needs of students and classes.</p> <p>Galilee is situated close to the city in South Melbourne and has a current enrolment of 368 students.</p> <p>As a Child Safe School, Galilee is committed to the safety and welfare of all students and complies with all aspects and legal obligations related to the standards. As such, the child Safety Code of Conduct will need to be signed and adhered to.&nbsp;</p> <p>Hours of work: 8.30-3pm</p> <p>Applications are due by 9am on Monday 30th June, however we may employ earlier, if a suitable candidate applies.</p> <p><strong>The successful applicant will be required to:</strong></p> <ul> <li>work within a collaborative education environment, liaising with Classroom Teachers, the Learning Diversity Leader and other Learning Support Staff,</li> <li>support the learning of students with additional needs in the classroom, attending to adjustments in Personalised Learning Plans,</li> <li>use spreadsheets to track sessions with students for formal NCCD requirements,</li> <li>support students with a range of needs including students and a diagnosis of&nbsp; ASD and ADHD,</li> <li>assist with supporting students during recess and lunchtime,</li> <li>comply with the school’s Child Safety Policy, Code of Conduct and procedures relating to Child Safety.</li> </ul> <p>This position is for the remainder of the 2025 school year and will begin as soon as possible.</p> <p><strong>Special Requirements</strong></p> <p>Applicants should have obtained or be willing to undertake, Certificate III (or higher qualification) in Education Support and must hold a current Working With Children's Check.</p> <p><strong>Applications</strong></p> <p>All applications should be sent to Mrs Amy Burns, Principal, at <a href="mailto:<a href='mailto:principal@gsm.vic.edu.au?subject=LEARNING%20SUPPORT%20OFFICER%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29'>principal@gsm.vic.edu.au</a>?subject=LEARNING%20SUPPORT%20OFFICER%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29" rel="nofollow"></a><a href="mailto:principal@gsm.vic.edu.au?subject=LEARNING%20SUPPORT%20OFFICER%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">principal@gsm.vic.edu.au</a>&nbsp;</p> <p>All applicants should provide a written application outlining relevant experience, skills and/or knowledge, a current resume with two referees who can be contacted by phone prior to the interview (current employer is required).</p> <p>Applications are due by 9am on Monday 30th June, however we may employ earlier if a suitable candidate is found.</p>
