We are seeking a Head of Professional Practice to lead the development of teachers' pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning across the College.

<p>RHAC is committed to supporting and advising teachers in relation to their professional practice. To help achieve this goal, the College has created a new, full time executive level leadership position commencing at the beginning of the 2026 school year.</p> <p><strong>About Us</strong></p> <p>Rouse Hill Anglican College (RHAC) is a growing and highly regarded independent co-educational Christian school with over 1,600 students from Pre-K to Year 12. Located in the Hills District in Sydney’s northwest, the College has modern facilities, is very well resourced and can be easily accessed by car or the Metro Northwest rail.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The Head of Professional Practice will lead the development of teachers’ pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning across the College.&nbsp;</p> <p>Under the direction of the Head of Junior School and Head of Senior School, and in collaboration with other academic leaders, the Head of Professional Practice will plan and implement professional learning initiatives, including material for staff professional learning days and meetings.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The Head of Professional Practice will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Have a strong understanding of how to engage with high quality educational research to improve teaching practice and help students achieve academically.</li> <li>Work directly with teachers to align teaching practice with RHAC’s Teaching and Learning Principles.</li> <li>Participate in strategic planning with the College Executive to advance the Principal’s vision.&nbsp;</li> <li>Coordinate lesson observations.&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee the Staff Mentoring Program.</li> <li>Have oversight of teachers applying for Proficient Teacher accreditation and directly supervise Experienced Teacher accreditation applicants.</li> <li>Maintain a teaching load which is likely to be 0.4 of a full time load, although this could be varied at the Principal’s discretion based on the needs of the College.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>Executive staff are expected to contribute to a range of RHAC events and activities, including camps and the extracurricular program. each year&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Attributes</strong></p> <p>Preferred applicants will:</p> <ul> <li>have significant experience leading a team of teachers, which includes developing their professional practice.</li> <li>be committed Christians who are actively involved in a bible teaching church.</li> <li>be able to perceive a teacher’s capacity, professional strengths and areas for improvement.</li> <li>be able to take practical, steps to help teachers develop and improve.</li> <li>be skilled in professional coaching conversations with teachers about their work.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>The Contract</strong></p> <p>All teachers at RHAC are employed under the Independent Schools (Teachers) Cooperative &nbsp; Multi Enterprise Agreement 2025 (CMEA). The CMEA outlines teacher’s salaries and their employment rights and responsibilities.
