<p>&nbsp;<strong>Instrumental Tutor – Piano</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>1–2 days of teaching per week</strong></li> </ul> <p>Damascus College is a dynamic Christ-centred learning community, set in a beautiful 22-hectare bush setting close to the Ballarat CBD.&nbsp;As Ballarat’s only Catholic co-educational secondary&nbsp;college, our innovative and progressive learning environment aspires&nbsp;to challenge students to contribute&nbsp;confidently to the global&nbsp;community.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Damascus College is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Piano Instrumental Tutor to join a growing Instrumental Music Department as soon as possible. This is a contract position for the remainder of the 2025 school year with a view to continuing in 2026.</p> <p>The successful candidate will be engaged across one to two days of teaching each week during school term. Students in the program are enrolled for half hour lessons on a rotational basis, during school hours each week and are charged for eight lessons per term.</p> <p>It is preferable for applicants to have the ability to work, communicate with and educate students of varying skill levels (from complete beginner with no music experience to intermediate students with a good knowledge of music theory and techniques).</p> <ol> <li>Ability to teach classical and contemporary technique</li> <li>Ability to teach the reading and writing of music</li> <li>Ability to teach VCE music and AMEB syllabus</li> <li>Ability to modify and differentiate for students with diverse learning needs</li> <li>Maintain a current Working with Children Check and complete annual requirements required for complying with the College’s Child Safe Standards</li> <li>Demonstrate excellent organisation and administrative skills</li> <li>Ability to accompany students of VCE music if required</li> </ol> <p>Our College offers a supportive team environment with strong opportunities for professional challenge and growth.
